  • I am looking forward to thanksgiving with Zach! I know he will have no idea what is going on but I still can't wait.  My sister is hosting her in laws and my family so that will be fun.

Stacy, I hope the drive goes well for you guys, fingers crossed he sleeps well a good majority of the drive =)

  • SO excited!

We're not hosting this year (we trade off with my Mum) so I think I only have to do a couple of dishes to bring.  But I'm trying out some new recipes this year and that always makes me happy :)

  • I am not hosting Thanksgiving.  We still celebrate with my Mom's side of our family.  There are about 40-50 of us with aunts, uncles and cousins.  We also go to my Mother-in-law's house for turkey dinner.  I LOVE Turkey day.  Love to see my family and spend time with my cousins.  It's a no stress day for me.  If I bring something it's usually just one dish to share.
  • I feel like we were just having this conversation :). We are hosting and my menu is not yet complete. MIL is gluten Free and I have no idea what to make for her (I always do a gf turkey) but she complains about everything else- she's also lactose intolerant. Any suggestions?

We drove to Sacramento in June when DS was 7 months old--- he was easier than the dog!!  :)  We actually left after work around 5:30 and stopped for the night in Bakersfield. Got up the next morning at 7 and finished the drive--- DS slept the entire time, only waking when he got hungry.  We drove straight through coming home, stopping every 3 hours for a break and again DS slept the entire time.  He got a little off schedule at night, with all of the day time sleeping, but it really wasn't a big deal.  GL!

I'm thinking we'll just stay home and cook a small dinner.  My mom will probably want us to come up to her house in N. Scottsdale, but I really don't feel like spending the day with the a$$ she married.  So, well see.....

  • We're hosting and I'm not ready. Lol... It sort of snuck up on me this year. I have a lot to do still... everyone is invited and we do our Thanksgiving potluck style but DH and I make the main corse... Turkey and I always make these super yummy rolls... I got the recipe from the Food Network mag last Thanksgiving. They were a huge hit so I'll be making those again. We will do two turkeys... one traditional and one smoked, the rolls, I'm make some pre-dinner snacks, and I usually make a homemade pie. Everyone else is bringing salad, veggie sides, stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc.

I also do not particularly love Thanksgiving food but it is DH's favorite holiday so I've learned to like it more.

  • So excited for Thanksgiving!  We always go over to one of my friend's parents house and bring wine. =)  Jason's parents arrive the day after Thanksgiving, so his mom is planning on making a mini Thanksgiving meal for us as well. I will probably make by cranberry pineapple minis (cranberry sauce, jello, pineapple, apples in little muffin tins).

  • No plans. Thinking I might do a 5K. We don't have family out here and are unable to go back East to see family. We usually treat it like a date night, but I was thinking of cooking this year...maybe make it a movie night since I have to work the next day.

Yeah, we are leaving after work and driving through the night in hopes that he will just sleep most of the time we're on the road. We're not stopping over night so I hope we don't regret that later. LOL
