S/O Thanksgiving- Black Friday
So- I'm an avid Black Friday shopper- anyone else? What are your thoughts on stores opening early on Thanksgiving now? Anything in the leake adds peaked your interest?
Re: S/O Thanksgiving- Black Friday
I have never shopped on Black Friday before. I just think my time is worth way more than any reduced price I'd get. Last year I talked myself in to going to Toys R Us late on T-giving night to buy my son a playhouse. I pulled into the parking lot and saw the LOOOOONNNNG line of shoppers and turned right around and went home. I'm just not that interested. I hear people LOVE it though.
You know I love BF! Oooooh the thrill of the hunt!!! We don't peep the ads until Turkey Day, though. I guess it's kind of a tradition to pass the paper around while we munch on snacks. lol
And what's this nonsense about the stores opening on Thanksgiving Day?! That's BS.
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
My mom and I usually do Black Friday every year. For the last few years we've had a GREAT system: Walmart at Midnight, Kohl's at 3am, Target at 4am, and Best Buy at 5am. We get to each one as they're opening (my aunt goes with us and gets in line as soon as we get there so we find what we want, check out and leave).
This year with everyone opening so early it really is throwing a wrench in things. I try not to support stores opening on a holiday and interrupting time with families- I rationalize Walmart to make me feel better by saying regardless of black friday or not they're always open 24 hours. This year I just don't know that I can support Target or Kohls at midnight. Not to mention I have previewed their adds and nothing is jumping out at me.
This year may be more low key- with Best Buy at 5 (they do have some stuff I'm interested in - not wait in line stuff) and then the mall. I'm also hoping Dolce does an awesome BF deal like they did last year (50% off merchandise-hurray! I need some more Bumble and Bumble!)
Of course this year DH is totally interested in the Video Game deals- so maybe it'll be vice versa- I'll stay home and he'll go out- ha!
I love BF. I have been going for years...although the past few years I started going later and later since there was really anything I cared about. This year, unfortunately, we'll be in CA. I still might try and go though. We'll see. I really like a few things from Walmart and Babies R Us. Other than that, eh...
That said, I have been keeping my eye out for deals now because those can be better than BF deals. Example: Walmart has a DSLR package on sale for BF and Costco has the same DSLR, but a slightly better package for $50 less right now. I bought that already.
