I remember playing as Tanooki Mario in Super Mario 3 when I was a kid, and never once did I equate it with a REAL FUR SUIT.  PETA makes people who actually care about animal welfare look ridiculous.  They're turning into the Westboro Church of animal rights.

PETA scares me. I love the idea of the group, but their causes sometimes seem to take it to some crazy level, which brings down the validity of the group in the first place.

That's just stupid. On an embarrassing note I never knew that was called Tanooki Mario. We always thought the "*** leaf" made you Raccoon Mario.

This.  I'm all for animal rights, but they make themselves look stupid when they spout off about stuff like this.

100% agreed.  They could do so much good, but they distract themselves (and everyone else) with stuff such as this.

We used to call it Raccoon Mario too. It is ridiculous for them to get all up in arms about this. There are different video games that are way worse out there to get upset about.
