Elf on the Shelf arrival?

Anyone doing Elf on the Shelf?  Ours will arrive the day after Thanksgiving.  I have read on a few blogs some cute ideas, but can't decide on a cute arrival.  What are you doing?

  • The first year, we just took him out of the box and read the book, etc.  Last year he arrived the day after Thanksgiving (I think) and he really was just in one of the spots he was in the year before.  I had to point him out to the kids.  My kids are almost 6 and 4 so our elf is always up high, where he can't be reached.  My 4 y/o wants to carry him around and if I remember correctly, the book says that he can't be touched so we always keep him up high - which makes it tricky.
