H stopped in my classroom today for the Great American Teach-In. He doesn't have a lot of free time so I wasn't sure if he was going to make it, but he came and had lunch with me (my lunch is at 1030am by the way, lol) and then he stayed for the following period.
He spoke to my 11th graders about being a lawyer and then he did a mock trial with them. It was so cute, my kids got so into it and they were playing their parts so well. I could tell he was a little nervous but he did really well interacting with the kids and kept them so engaged.
Re: H at Teach-In
Sounds like fun, and something very meaningful.
BTW - I need to clean my bookshelf. Would you like some books for your kids?

That would be awesome! I would love that. My email address is shawana143@aol.com if you want to email me so we can arrange it. Thank you so much!!!
Did it ourselves. He just based it on a case he has had himself and then we made up "characters", wrote their info on notecards, and assigned kids to play the characters. It wasn't a totally accurate trial, he just cross-examined them (we only had about 40 minutes) but it was just to give them an idea of it.
I'm sure if you google it you can find some materials or information. Anytime I'm trying out a new teaching idea or lesson, I just google it and usually someone else has put info online about it somewhere.
