Vacation planning help

Let's say you can go anywhere you want in the world for 10 to 14 days in February and you are going to take a 3 year old with you.

Where would you go?

I need ideas here.  DH is set on Hong Kong and Bali.  I would prefer Bali just the two of us and we have already been to HK, but he thinks F would like HK Disney.

I was going to suggest that one too...lol.

    Not in February....brrrr....

I suggested Tokyo, but he is paranoid about Nuclear mess...it is silly.

I really don't want to go to the Caribbean again.  I really want to go to Colombia, but we can't get good flights there.

This would be my suggestion. A few years ago my cousin had a contract for Toyko Disney, so if you wanted more info I could ask her.

  • Guam and Disney Tokyo

  • Austalia.  Bonus it would be summer time there in Feb.

Do you have to do some kind of Disney? I would feel blah about having to stop in Disney if we were out of the country. :)

We don't have to do Disney.  For Bali, it is a way to break up the loooong flight.

Ohhh...I second Australia.  Aside from the horrendous flight time (which I guess you might have depending on where you go), it would be awesome b/c it would be warm, and there would be tons of stuff for kids, and no language barriers!

  • I was going suggest New Zealand. Beautiful! Lots to do. You can break up the trip by going between the north and south islands. You can take a penguin tour from the south island that is awesome.  There is also whale watching which was surprisingly fun!
  • We were planning on taking the kids to HK Disney, and most people we talked to said it's a neat place to go if you're already in HK, but suggested not going to HK for the express purpose of going to Disney. So if Disney is the main reason your DH wants to go back to HK, I'd skip it.

I would definitely wait on Bali until just the two of you can go. You won't get to really experience it best with F with you.  You can definitely still have fun, but DH and I definitely want to go back with just the two of us.

New Zealand is a great suggestion.

I'd love to spend a few weeks in central Europe--Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Austria, etc. I'd also love to go to Turkey.

It really depends on what kind of trip you want.  Relaxing? Exploring a new city? Outdoors stuff?

ETA:  South Africa would be great with a 3-year old, and the weather in Feb. should be really nice.

  • New Zealand - I am not sure what Finley could do but I have always wanted to go there

Scotland - Lots of castles which would be fun for Finley

  • Oooh, what about a safari trip in South Africa? Finley loves the zoo, so that'd be really cool.
  • New Zealand would be amazing.  Need to investigate this further, thanks for the idea!

I think we want to wait for safari until she is older.  I don't think 3 year olds are allowed on most of them anyhow.
