Re: Any Book Recommendations

  • I need some recs for Christmas also.

Last Christmas I got - The Help (good book), The Girl that Plays with Fire (the 3 books); and a Cecilia Ahern Book (not sure on the name off the top of my head, I like her books a lot.  She wrote PS I love You).

I know I am asking for the Hunger Games this Christmas.

  • The Hunger Games - all 3

Nicholas Sparks - The best of me was his latest one and it was really good.

  • The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, definitely second that option.

A Million Little Pieces, followed by My Friend Leonard (James Frey).

Valley of the Dolls. (Jacqueline Susann)

  • The Hunger Games (all 3 books) - I went through all 3 books in 2 weeks.

The Help - the movie is good but the book is much better.

I really would like to read The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo as well.

  • What kind of books do you like?

I loved Hunger Games (all 3). Also been enjoying the Stephanie Plum Series. Really liked the Help.

  • The Help was good, although I thought the audio version was better.  Water for Elephants and Kite Runner are two of my all-time faves.

  • Right now I am reading Outsiders with my students. I forgot how much I loved that book!
  • My all time favorite book is She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. And I second anything by Nicholas Sparks. Loved every book of his.

I really need to get into reading again instead of frying my brain with frickin reality TV.

  • I am going to go with the complete R & R idea of some fluff reading and recommend a romance writer that I absolutely adore: Susan Elizabeth Phillips.  I have re-read every single book of hers within a week of purchasing and probably have read some of her books 10 plus times (at least twice a year I go back through them).  Love Match Me If You Can and am probably going to get it off my shelf to read this weekend now :) A lot of them of have characters that continue through-out but you can really read them in any order.
  • I like the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.  She has a new one coming out next week, but you can read any of them in any order.  Quick reads, so get more than 1.

I had it in my head that it came out today and was so excited. I was totally bummer to find out it comes out next week.

  • Also love Susan Elizabeth Phillips.  I get them all on books on CD at the library.  The only time I get to catch up on my reading is in the car.
