I really, really, really wanna craft, but..

I seriously don't think apartment/city living is conducive to crafting. I think I've bought the same basic things 5 times (and wasted a ton of money) bc I end up throwing supplies away bc I have no space for them. Someday when I have a crafting room, maybe then...

I haven't even gotten halfway though my college scrapbook, and I used to be so passionate about my scrapbooking :( No money, no space!

Re: I really, really, really wanna craft, but..

  • When my daughter lived in an apartment, she kept her crafting supplies (other than her sewing machine) in an underbed storage container.  It wasn't ideal, but she could keep some basic supplies and small projects in there and could easily find them when she needed them.
  • My brother has a 5x5 square Expedit bookcase from ikea in the bedroom of his 1 bedroom apartment. It is big enough for his books, photos, sewing machine, camera collection (he has a few vintage ones he uses) and more. Expedit also fits the Itso bins from Target which are nice and come in a variety of colors. He stores a ton of supplies, tools, and Lego too.  It isn't cluttered at all and it is not a huge apartment.  I have a lot in a Hemnes wardrobe fro Ikea but use a smaller Expedit for toys and was amazed how much I got in the bins.

He does have higher than normal ceilings I think. I can't quite reach the cord of the ceiling fan.

  • I lived in 550 sq ft until this week, so I would say apartment crafting is totally possible.  You just need to keep the essential supplies around and then by per project instead of just hoarding the stuff.
