I don't really think it's the same. There is a lot more body fluid involved in a guy's orgasm then a woman's, barring female ejaculation which is rare.
I don't think BJ's are awful all, but I don't swallow or take it in my mouth. I don't like the taste and it would be a huge turnoff for me to swallow. XBF didn't ever mind and neither does my current BF. It's just a personal preference you have to have a conversation about with your SO and come to some sort of agreement.

I swallow all the time and have no issue with it. For us its mostly just a way of constantly changing things up. If we're having sex, he'll generally just finish inside me, but occasionally he likes to pull out and finish in my mouth. If it turns him on, and its less mess for me, I'm fine with it. Now, if I'm giving him head he always finishes in my mouth and I swallow unless it turns into sex at some point. I do have some girlfriends who find it disgusting or objectifying, but I can't for the life of me wrap my head around it. If its a gag reflex thing I totally understand, I guess I remember being forced to drink prune juice as a child. But it being objectifying, I just don't see where people get that. I look at it as, if thats objectifying, so is him going down on me and me telling him to do it harder. Fluids are fluids, keeping both of us turned-on is a big part of our relationship. In general, I think it works out easier in relationships where no one really has big hang-ups, but at the same time your sexual interests are similar. I feel so bad for the women out there whos H's are interested in swinging or threesomes. If the woman is into it as well, more power to you. But when any sexual interest is so one-sided, even just in the mind of one person, it makes things so much harder.

I swallow. Never did before DH. I would always just sort of "get out of the way" and let things go where they were going to go. I wasn't interested in doing it. One night, DH (dear fiance at the time) asked me if I would consider it. I said okay. He tastes like raw pie crust. Not at all an unpleasant taste. It's a little sweeter if he has some pineapple.

With exH, I would give him BJs, but never swallowed or even came close because I just knew I would vomit all over him. I have a really touchy gag reflex that goes off like a hair trigger.
Well, having not done both, I take back my statement. That does make sense that it's not just the fluid after orgasm.
