30th birthday party

Hi! I am looking for some fun 30th Birthday party ideas. How do you plan to spend your 30th, or if it's already past, what did you do for your 30th? We're in the Kansas City area if that helps. TIA!

Re: 30th birthday party

  • I am not sure how much money you want to spend. I threw my husband a surprise party and rented out a bar for his 30th. There were appetizers and drinks. It was open bar. Overall, I spent about $1000 on everything and the owners of the bar were actually friends of ours so they gave me a deal. You could do something similar and much less expensive without the open bar.

I am turning 30 in a week. We are just going to dinner with friends and going out for a few drinks afterwards. We also have a baby at home, so I didn't want to do too much for it.

  • We went to Mexico for H's 30th, then the day after we got home I had a surprise party planned at the bowling alley.  He LOVES bowling so that's why I chose that.  I had about 30 ppl, paid for bowling, pizza/apps, beer and it cost me about $400.

For mine, we are planning a trip to San Francisco and Napa.  My sister and her bf are coming and we are inviting some more people but don't know if anyone else is coming yet.  I don't know if we'll have a party here, but it would be impossible for H to surprise me so I'd probably be in on the planning.  Plus I absolutely love planning stuff so that would be party of the fun for me

  • Think about what he likes and what you want to spend.

We live in a small town.  For each of our 30th we went to a city and rented a hotel room.  We had a nice dinner and bar hopped for the night.  It was what we wanted.

Now for my 40th he's taking me on a trip!

  • For my husbands, we went with our group of friends to Medieval Times and although cheesy...everyone had a really great time :)

We went a little more crazy with mine since my husband really wanted to do this idea too: we rented a party bus and paid for it.  It fit about 20 of our friends and it was a big hit!  We went to the city (NYC) to go out but actually had more fun on the bus!  It was about 1200$ for the bus out the door but really well worth it.

  • Happy birthday 2 U.

Every year, I just spend this day as normal, nothing special. LOL

  • My 30th was this summer and in KC too:). We had a big party at our house. It was normal snacks and drinks and a lot of fun. For DH's 30th a few years ago, he said he wanted a Wii and a pizza party. So we went to Godfather's and had friends over to play his new Wii.

None of my friends have done anything big and crazy. Mostly just dinners or parties at home.

  • I am planning for my husband's 30th to surprise him with a "roast".  I know he wanted one for his bachelor party, but it never happened.  Basically, everyone at the party will get a chance to talk "crap" about my husband.  If you are familiar with comedy central's roasts to certain stars, it will be similar to that.

I was 30 weeks pregnant on my 30th, we went to Florida for a babymoon.
