QOTD Monday (respect the bird)
Who are you spending Thanksgiving with?
Re: QOTD Monday (respect the bird)
sister and BIL are hosting
guests include:
my parents
BIL's parents
my dad's sister, her husband and my cousin (their adult DD)
my dad's aunt and her two DD's and one's DH
my mom's sister
Thanksgiving is "our" holiday to host - my parents are coming down tomorrow and staying for the week, my brother's family of 5 will come for the day, and my wonderful friend SSW
. It is even looking good that my husband may actually be in attendance - though with his silly job I won't actually believe it until he's sitting at the table and has had his first glass of wine

We're hosting my parents and my sister this year. DH asked to invite his parents, and promised me they'd never accept (I HATE ILs, they are cruel, abusive, mentally unstable, and always ruin every get together).
They cancelled their flights to Memphis, and decided to come. I'm so pissed at DH, I'm tempted to pretend sick and call off Thanksgiving.
This is our non-travel year so no family. We are hosting 4 friends (two couples) from different parts of our life so thay don't really know eacht other! It is our first Thanksgiving in our house so I'm pretty excited!
Parents, brother/SIL, BIL/SIL, sister/sister's NEW BF, Aunt/Uncle/Cousin, Cousin, +neice, 2nephews, cousin's 2 kids.
Meeting the new boyfriend should be entertaining.
I'm supposed to be on my best behavior. I really hope he's not an a$$.

We're hosting. We're just hosting a handful of friends- 6 people total I think- people who can't go home because of work obligations.
Stand up for something you believe in.
DH and my father in law.
We never go back to WI for Thanksgiving and my in laws never used to come out by my mother in law passed away last month so we convenienced FIL to fly out to spend it with us (DH has no siblings).
w'ere heading to my SIL's house but I cook the turkey (25 pounder), potatoes, cranberry sauce (this year with pomengrantes), as well as some sides (brussel sprouts, bc I love them!) and desserts (cherry pocket pies!) and John makes chantilly cream.
My SIL likes to host but does not cook so everyone gets ordered (srsly, ordered) to bring XXX and only XXX -- no variations. One year we brought the "wrong" squash.Oy. I need to start drinking now.
No repeat of last year's odd guest list.....(you'd have to be an oldie here to get that joke...)
"What is a week-end?"
I love that everyone has such a wide variety of what they're doing and with whom!
We're hosting O's family. There'll be 14 of us. Usually they just do a "whatever we feel like making" potluck but they do that for EVERY holiday, so when I host Thanksgiving I make a turkey and stuffing so it seems like Thanksgiving to me.
Going to kiahj's!
It's going to be a really untradtional thanksgiving for me. I'm going to start it off by finishing the painting I started on Saturday, lol. The area I have left to do is pitch black by the time I get home from work, and theres no light in there and its too cramped to bring in a lamp, so I can only do it first thing in the morning.
DH and I are having a mini thanksgiving by ourselves on Sunday though, since he won't get a "real" thanksgiving at work.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
I'll be spending it with DH, my parents, and my in-laws at our place.
