Re: PG/Mom Check-In

  • Well, even though it is early, we just found out Friday we are expecting again.  I decided that I wasn't going to temp this cycle (I was getting frustrated with it all), so I am not sure the exact EDD but we estimated it as July 28th, 2012.

We are extremely excited, but we are anxious as well.

I am feeling fine (no MS or anything yet), but I am extremely tired!  I know it is only going to get worse as the pregnancy goes on. Running (literally) after a toddler pregnant is going to be challenge!

    Congrats! No news here.
I picked my niece up from the airport yesterday. Her mom asked over the phone if I have a baby belly yet. Niece replies, 'nope, skinny as ever'. Lol.
So the good news is that an 8 year old didn't notice the bloat :)

  • Congrats, dvroxy! Great news!

Not much new here. Baby girl is moving around like crazy and my H finally got to feel her move this weekend, which was awesome. I have monthly check-up tonight and have to do my 1-hour glucose test, so I'm not excited about that, but hopefully all goes well.

  • Can I be added to the list?  Or am I not regular enough? LOL

I am due May 30th.  I've been feeling better still have my yucky moments but they are few and far between.  No baby bump yet but I know it will come soon enough.

  • Congrats Danielle!  That's great news!

As for me, I am running on empty.  I have no energy and MS is kicking my butt.  I am by NO MEANS complaining, just counting down the days until I am out of the first tri, LOL.  I feel guilty because I don't have the energy to really engage with Macy throughout the day.  Basically my day consists of me lying in the bed or on the couch while she brings me toys to play with.  Some great mom I am, ha.  But I have been trying to take her more often to the play ground (which is an hour away......boo) to let her get her energy out.

I will be flying back to FL next week and I am dreading it.  I am not sure how I am going to do it with my lack of energy.  I am sure I will be fine but I am not looking forward to it at all!

In other news, my spotting has FINALLY stopped.  I switched brands of progesterone which is what I think did the trick.  I haven't had any spotting since last Friday........fingers crossed it stays this way!  The four weeks of nonstop spotting was really nerve wracking so it's a huge relief for it to have stopped.

Day by day I am starting to feel more confident about this pregnancy but I am still scared that once I totally embrace it the worst will happen.

  • Doing well here.  We told our parents over the weekend, so that was fun! We will see my family for thanksgiving and H's family the following weekend.  Everyone is very excited!  I don't have another appt until Dec 20 but that will be 12 weeks so hopefully everything will still be going great!  My MS is slightly better.  I still get it pretty much all day but the evenings arent as bad as they were about a week and a half ago.  I am definitely passed out by about 9pm every night though!

    Yes!  Congrats to Danielle!

Kathy--this was me the first 16 weeks of my pregnancy.  I kept calling Isaiah the poor orphan child because I was SO sick.  I threw up all the time, and I could not get out of bed.  Isaiah was stuck watching cartoons with me or bringing me toys etc.  It gets better!  Now, i am battling a head cold on top of regular pregnancy congestion, so I want to punch someone on the face lol.  I just cannot seem to get rid of the congestion, and it gives me an awful headache and my ears are really clogged.  I told DH that when my ears finally DO clear up, I am probably going to be scared sh*tless because I have not been able to hear regularly for about a week and a half now.  LOL.

  • I'm not on the list, and don't need to be, I just wanted to say all you preggo ladies are making me want one more. Since my DD will be 14 on the 7th of December, IDK if it would be a good idea to start over.....but maybe!

Kathy's baby is clearly snacking on her brain already.  Don't you want to retire?  A 14 year gap is no joke.

  • After saying last week that Maisy seemed determined to skip crawling, the very following evening she decided to start crawling all over the place. She'd still rather be on her feet, but at least she now has the means to easily get herself over to things to pull up on so she can cruise. She also started waving this week, but is pretty selective on who she waves to. Strangers and the tv, yes. My H or the  grandparents, nope.

  • Congrats, Danielle! I remember you had said that you guys have been trying for a while so I'm excited for you! :)

Zoe is just awesome! This is a really fun age. :) I love all her funny facial expressions! It is really cute how she follows H around the house when he gets home from work.

We had an appt at Shriner's last week and her hips look perfect. We don't have to go back for another 4-6 months! We won't have to go anymore after the age of 2 if everything continues to look good. Woo hoo!

She also had her 9 month check up last week and is 28.5 in, 20 lb 2oz, and is in the 97% for head circumference, lol! Gotta find somewhere to fit that huge brain! ;)

Today was her last day of swimming and I am kinda sad. She really enjoys the water so I can't wait to get her back in next year. With ISR as an infant you learn to just float if you fall in the pool. After her first birthday, she will learn the float-swim-float so she doesn't get tired swimming if she ever falls in the water and no one is around. I'd like to think my H and I will always be around, but you never know about anyone who may be watching her or something. It gives me tremendous peace of mind!

This is how I feel after working all night. :( I am a zombie. It sucks. If I get pg in the next 6 months or so it should be interesting. I asked some of my coworkers if they could babysit but have gotten all No's so far. One said she doesn't feel comfortable taking care of babies. Doh!

I'm so happy your spotting has stopped! :)

  • Congrats dvroxy!

We had a 3d ultrasound Saturday.  They confirmed that yes, we are having a girl! It was really nice to see her again, she was moving all around...very cool!

  • I cannot believe I'm second in line!  When did that happen?

We're doing well.  DH and I got the nursery packed this weekend and it made me super sad.  I know we'll get it put together in the new place soon, but it bummed me out to put all of her things away and know she'll never see this apartment that we picked out in anticipation of her coming.

She has also dropped super, super low.  I constantly feel her pushing and pressing on my cervix.  Not comfy!  She must be head down too because I can feel her little hiccups in that area too.  I don't have any cramping or contractions, so I assume it's ok that she's down there.  I hope she realizes she still has about 9 weeks to go and stops trying to break out!

  • We are doing well here.  I keep waiting for Amelia to crawl anyday.  I think this cold is setting her back a little bit.  She gets breathing treatments every 4 hours until her cough goes away.  The pedi (not our regular) heard her cough and said it was bronchillitis (as opposed to bronchitis.)

I also suspect that Abigail is thinking about teething..but I am not sure.  since I have her at daycare all day long, I don't know if she is as upset as she is on the way home - today she ate at 5pm.  Then, she screamed like she was in pain the whole way home (about 15 minutes.)  I was twitchy afterwards.  This is the second day that she's done this.  Plus her "teacher" said she and Amelia were fussy all day.

Still no job, but I am seriously considering moving in with my dad.  For my own gadd@mn mental health.

  • I had my routine appt yesterday and my stubborn girl is still breech.  For the past 4 weeks I've been doing everything I can think of.  I had 4 chiro visits for the Webster technique, I've been on the inversion board, I've been crawling on my hands and knees around my house and doing the recommended yoga poses, and she's still sitting pretty.  Everybody here has been very supportive that she will flip but I just don't  think it's looking good.  Good news is that she is frank breech and the placenta is posterior so the Dr will be able to attempt a manual inversion at 37 weeks, but apparently it's pretty painful and only has a 50% sucess rate.  On another bright side, if the end all is that I have no choice but to schedule a c/s it will be before my due date 1/1 which is the date my health insurance changes, so my copay will be $150 instead of 15%.  Crazy that one day is the difference between a $150 hospital bill and a $3,000 one!   My argument in my head right now is I would happily spring for the extra $2,850 to have a natural birth, but if I go past my due date and she doesn't flip and end up with an emergency c/s I will still have the c/s and the big hospital charge.  Is it worth the risk to wait?   Things that make  you go hmmmm.  (anyone get my 90's reference??  :)
