Carseat question

This might be a dumb question, but do carseats expire?

If we don't plan on having #2 for a few years should I sell our carseat or keep it?

Re: Carseat question

  • Yes, they expire.  It will be marked on your carseat.  Infant seats are usually 5 (or is it 6 now?) years.  The expiration date will be on the seat though.

  • It should be in your manual and on the seat somewhere. I know graco imprints the date right into the plastic under the seat, but most other seats have stickers, I believe. It should be 6 years for a Chicco seat (and most others). I know Peg Perego seats have a 5 year expiration before January 2011, and I think there are a couple new infant seats that have 7 years. Orbit being one of them.
