I'm here!!

• Highs? We got SO much done this weekend in our house -- bedroom painted gray, kitchen cabinets painted bright white, nightstands painted white. We have lot of family coming for the holidays, and this had been on our to-do list for a long time!
  
  
• Lows? Not that I can think of...other than being sore from all the housework!
  
  
• Eat anything good? I went to a housewarming party on Saturday and had some yummy food. It's amazing how something as simple as a ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette can be so delicious.
  
  
• Watch anything good? We watched "Friends with Benefits" with Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake last night. I totally expected it to be dumb, but it was actually pretty funny.
  
  
• Read anything good? No...I didn't even get around to reading the Sunday Washington Post until this morning, and even then I just browsed it.
  
  
• FFC's, vents, observations, etc? I lost my Thanksgiving shopping list!! I have been carrying it around with me and visiting multiple grocery stores and have one last stop today and my list is gone.

• Highs? Got Gracie's holiday photos taken and I think they will be great, went hiking at Great Falls and I'm pretty much done with my Christmas shopping.
  
• Lows? Woke up in the middle of the night last night and puked my guts out for a while. Not sure if it was something I ate or a bug. Yuck.
  
• Eat anything good? Thai Crunch Salad from CPK
  
• Watch anything good? Caught up on Dexter and American Horror Story
  
• Read anything good? The Princes in the Tower by Alison Weir and Home Again by Kristin Hannah
  
• FFC's, vents, observations, etc? Vent: I'm really pissed at Netflix lately. I've been getting the Sons of Anarchy DVD's through them and I've had three that were too scratched to watch so I've had to send back. It's so irritating b/c we only have the 2 DVD at a time so I'm tying up our queue so DH can't get anything and I have to wait for the previous season DVD to arrive before I can watch the next episodes just sitting at home.

• Highs? Had a great time with friends on Saturday night.

• Eat anything good? Shamefully, we got fried chicken on an impulse decision. It was delicious.
  
• Watch anything good? The Eagles beat the Giants!!
  
• Read anything good? Nope.
  
• FFC's, vents, observations, etc? I am pretty sure my MIL went through our trash when she was watching B last week. I had a pregnancy test box (FYI - not trying for #2 whatsoever but was experiencing pregnancy-like symptoms and was just making sure I wasn't) and hid it under trash and when I got home the box was back on top. Perhaps the dog got into the trash, but it's not like her to nose through it so I can only assume it was MIL. Random! More of an observation than a vent...just strange I guess!
  
• For those who went, how was the cookie exchange? Any new recipes to share? Had to miss it but hope it was fun!

• Highs? Our washing machine wasn't broken after all (woohoo!!) and we had a great dinner at Fogo de Chao on Saturday.
  
• Lows? DS woke up sick Sunday morning. They seriously come out of nowhere, I don't get it.
  
• Eat anything good? Yes, lots of yummy steak!
  
• Watch anything good? Just caught up on DVRed tv from last week.
  
• Read anything good? No.
  
• FFC's, vents, observations, etc?
  
• I had a Dr. appt this morning and it was the 2nd appt of the day and I still had to wait 45 mins. I purposely schedule appts for first thing in the morning so they shouldn't have had time to get their schedules backed up yet!!
• DS refused to sleep anywhere but in my arms last night, so I held him for 6 uncomfortable hours. I love holding him while he sleeps, but not for that long.
• This is my favorite week of the year - 3 day week, yummy dinner kicking of the holiday season, then 4 day weekend. Perfect week!

• Highs? Everything...great weekend all around.  Went to a retirement party Friday night followed by a visit to the bar where my brother works.  Ran in to a friend there and he and I had a great time catching up.  Saturday I enjoyed catching up with the gals at Mary's house for the cookie exchange and then went to a party Saturday night where I enjoyed some adult beverages. 
  
• Lows? I was completely exhausted yesterday and didn't get nearly anything done that I should have.  Even fell asleep a little bit during the game.
  
• Eat anything good? Cookies!  And some turkey salad thing last night I made for dinner tonight (I had to try a piece to make sure it tasted okay!)
  
• Watch anything good? No time for tv really this weekend.
  
• Read anything good? The ads for Black Friday...trying to figure out if I really need to still buy anything or not
  
• FFC's, vents, observations, etc? Work is absolutely crazy and there aren't enough hours in the day.  Yet...if I stay and work comp, it's like I still don't get caught up.  So it's like I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.  Why stay late/come in on the weekends and give up my personal time if nothing ever seems to get resolved anyway?!

Highs? DS is starting to "talk" so far we have dada and mama and I am in heaven.  Sure he calls me dada, but I am sure he will get it right soon Lows? There is some major drama with the IL's and for the past 3 years it has happened around the holidays.  Why can't we be drama free for one damn year?! Eat anything good? I went to Red Robin on Saturday and had a bacon cheeseburger and their DELICIOUS fries!!  I also tried the Gingerbread shake and might have a new holiday favorite (Thanks Grace!) Watch anything good? Caught up on Grimm (which I am REALLY trying to like) and Top Chef, which I will always like. Read anything good? all of my magazines that I have been neglecting FFC's, vents, observations, etc? See low's above...maybe I am being selfish, but this is DS first Christmas and I would love for it to be close to perfect and I don't get why grown adults have to dish out ridiculousness. For those who went, how was the cookie exchange? Any new recipes to share?

Highs? DH went with me to Allen's Pond yesterday to take family portraits for my sister. Then the two of us walked around and I got to take pictures of all the ducks/geese. It was fantastic.

Lows? None that I can think of

FFC's, vents, observations, etc? No but I'm excited about two things that I'll share! First, DH has decided to start a food blog. He's a phenomenal cook and he's been logging his recipes in Excel but want to blog them now. I helped take pictures the past two nights and they came out great! I can't wait for the first few posts to be online. Second, Friday is my two year annversary with m job, which means I get a raise! For those who went, how was the cookie exchange? Any new recipes to share? I was working so I didn't go.

Read anything good? This weekend I devoured: The Summer Kitchen, The Next Always, and Lola and the Boy Next Door. The first I wouldn't recommend, but I loved the latter two (by Nora Roberts and Stephanie Perkins, respectively).

FFC's, vents, observations, etc? FFC: In response to the new neighbor's resistance to common parking courtesy, I've taken to parking across the two spaces in front of my house at every opportunity, then moving when DH gets home so that he can park there as well. It's bitchy, but I don't care - they pissedmeoff.

• Highs? I had a great time on Sat night in Fed hill for a friends bday.

• Eat anything good? We to visit my grandfather yesterday and we did a pre-thanksgiving dinner. So good! I love Thanksgiving food!

• FFC's, vents, observations, etc? My mother is starting to freak out b/c she knows that I'm not staying with them forever and my brother just bought a condo, so he is moving out soon, so she is being an ass.
