PSA...Real Christmas trees

We got a 9ft douglas fur at Lowes for $59. We haven't had a real tree in years because they are always so expensive. H and DD always want one but I veto it and use our fake one. H said someone told him they were only $30 at Lowes, so I agreed to go look. Well they did have 9 ft $30 trees, but of course then he wanted the douglas fur.....so we got it and it is huge and beautiful! (and my house smells like Christmas for the first time in years!)

I will post pictures after we decorate it tonight, unless anyone wants to see a undecorated tree....LOL

ooo really? I'm generally against buying Christmas trees from Lowes (for no reason other than i'd rather buy from a local church rather than a gigantic corporation)- but last year we paid $100 for a 9ft tree from a tree lot @ a church. Chris might me less annoyed at such a big tree if it doesn't cost so much.

Yep, it was the Lowes on 19, across from Target and Home Depot. They will take it out of the netting show you, then if you want it cut ithey will do it for you and re-net it!

The $100+/price tag is what has kept me away from a real tree for years now! My DD and DH think I'm cheap! LOL

ahhhh, this might be the answer to my prayers!  LOL.  I want a 9 footer SO bad, and every year DH tells me no because they are so expensive.  We love the lot we go to, and it is a church organization, but they are so expensive! Just might have to try Lowe's!  Thanks!

Yup, Lowe's has become our tradition. :-)

I want to say we paid somewhere around $45, give or take $10, for our 8-9 foot tree last year.

It must depend on where you are, because Christmas trees in Chicago are expensive!  We usually have to spend at least $65 at Home Depot for a 6-8 foot.

I checked with DH. We usually get a 7-8 footer. That's probably why.

I prefer Home Depot/Lowe's over church sponsored lots. I'd rather give my money to corporations than to organized religion.

We ended up going to Ergle's Tree Farm . We got a freakin' ginormous tree. It's HUGE. It's 9ft tall, but it's about 6ft wide at the bottom. I love it. We paid $90 and it's worth every penny!
