What's Your Favorite Thanksgiving Food?

Traditional or otherwise because I know not everyone celebrates with turkey and dressing!

I love my dad's dressing with lots of gravy on top!  Also, no Thanksgiving meal is complete without some deviled eggs or Mom's spicy corn casserole.  DH is crazy about the 7 layer salad I make and is wanting me to bake a pumpkin roll for him this year.

Re: What's Your Favorite Thanksgiving Food?

  • I know it's kinda weird cause no actual cooking goes into it (well, baking does) but the crescent rolls. The kind from a can. My mom always makes them. I know I can make them any time, but I never do. Also the in-the-bird stuffing. When it's squishy and delicious.

  • I love pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes.  That and rolls are really all that I eat at Thanksgiving.  My first "traditional" Thanksgiving meal was when I started dating DH 7 Thanksgivings ago; my family always did traditional German food for Thanksgiving.  I'm not really a fan of traditional Thanksgiving food.
  • I think my favorite would have to be stuffing. Thanksgiving would not be complete without a big ol' pile :) I also love green bean casserole.

  • Every TG we spend at DH's family in ATL. His BIL loves cooking, and quite honestly, every single thing is delicious, but if I have to choose, it would be the little crossaints he bakes from scratch and the sweet potatoes baked with brown sugar.

I also love my DH's cranberry sauce - he never makes it but his family has followed his recipe since DH created it when he was 7 years old in grade school.  His mom makes it and the whole family has been eating that same sauce for 25 years now :)

  • I love pumpkin cheesecake!  I can't wait to make and eat it Thursday!!!!
