Cooking/baking/eating post?

Anyone make anything this past weekend? Eat anything fabulous? As always, share a recipe if you have a winner.

Re: Cooking/baking/eating post?

  • I made some veggie chili, with cornbread for DH that had jalapenos, cheddar and bacon in it. Also made banana chocolate chip walnut bread on... Friday, I think. It's yummy. And last night, I made a warm mushroom salad, with shaved pecorino and walnuts over spinach. It was pretty good but I think I need more/more flavorful dressing for it next time.
  • I made this cornmeal pizza dough: http://www.food.com/recipe/cornmeal-pizza-crust-182022. I've made it before and just love it. It's the nicest, softest, easiest to work with pizza dough ever and really yummy.

I made one pizza with tomato sauce, chopped leftover broccoli, turkey chorizo and green onions with goat gouda, and another one with olive oil, thinly sliced potatoes and mushrooms with more goat gouda, mozzarella and parmesan and then topped it with arugula after baking. And a special one for Kyva with tomato sauce, more chopped broccoli and mozzarella. They were delish, Kyva had FIVE little slices! And ate broccoli!

  • Zoe, that sounds amazing! Totally saving that dough recipe. I feel like I hardly bake or cook anything interesting lately. My baking weekends are now working on the house weekends.

  • J made two really great recipes that I found on epicurious last week. I would post clicky links but I'm writing from my phone. Anyway, one was a pumpkin curry with shrimp, but I'm sure you could do any (or no) meat. The other was a vegetarian black bean chili. We've tried at least four other black bean chili recipes and have never been wowed, this was a definite winner!
