My cousin is on her way to Grand Rapids right now to meet and take home her baby girl. She and her husband have spent many years waiting for a birth mom to pick them as parents and finally it happened and it sounds like there are no hiccups and everything is good to go. I'm really happy and it is even more special that this is all happening in GR!
And I'm drawing a blank as to what to give her as a gift! You'd think being a mom to three, I'd know right off the bat. She didn't have an official shower because this all happened so fast. Any ideas? I have a bunch of stuff stored on pinterest but I still want to get her something useful. I'm guessing it will have to be a BabysRUs GC along with my fun gift from pinterest.

I hope that once they get her home, they'll figure out what they need and have a shower/meet our beautiful little girl party. Make them register, Tigers.
What an awesome moment. You know... would they be interested in having some photos taken tonight before heading home? You do have some skills.

Yeah, I offered once but she never said yes or no. I always tread lightly on this because on the other side of things, I don't want them to feel pressured to use me because maybe they don't like my style, etc. But, that would be an awesome event to capture but also intensely personal especially after what they have been through to get her. So, I'm hoping maybe when things settle, maybe she'll use me for milestone pictures, etc.
Yeah, that's another thing. During a really sappy father/daughter dance at a wedding, I learned that crying fogs up my view finder making it tough to take pix. I'd DEFINITELY be having this issue for this event.
How awesome for them. I like the idea of a BRU gift card. What about a gift card for takeout too, even if it's just for Subway. I'm sure cooking will be the last thing on their minds the next few days/weeks.
Yeah, that is a really good idea too! Maybe I'll do both. They deserve it!
I just looked through my pinterest and there is a onesie that says "no one puts baby in a corner" and then another one that says "I'm told I like football" (they are huge Lions fans). So, maybe between those ones. Oh, and maybe I can find the onesie with a picture of old school Madonna on it. Or NKOTB. That would ROCK!Oh yay!!! Such exciting news! I think the gift card will be very appreciated and I love the "I'm told I like football." onesie!
I decided they will probably get football stuff from other people so I'm focusing on NKOTB. The question is, should I get a picture of NKOTB or the wording "New Kid on the Block".
