New home owner (4 months) + tax reduction.
My Realtor told us at the end of the year to file for the 1% tax reduction for residential property. Has anyone bought a new house and already filed for deduction?

Are you talking about the Homestead exemption? I think you can only file for those during a certain time of the year (which might be end of the year...I need to look it up because we just bought at the end of September) and they don't take affect until the next year or something stupid and confusing!
