WWYD? Christmas Cards

If your doing Christmas cards, would you order return address labels that match the card? We haven't done special return address labels since moving to this house so I'm trying to decide if I want to do Christmas specific ones just for this card or if I should just order "regular" ones I could use all year round and use those? WDYT?

Re: WWYD? Christmas Cards

  • I must be cheap because I write my return address. I think if your regular return labels are plain then use them. You could jazz it up and buy festive ones. One reason I don't buy return labels is that I've moved 3 times in the last three years and am moving next year.

  • I write mine too, but if they were free (like from Vistaprint or something), I'd use them. I would not pay for them to match.
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

Yeah I'm seriously thinking I might just write my own. After I looked at the cost I just don't think its worth it. I'll diffidently be ordering them for my Dad's cards though because he wants to send a bunch and I DON'T want to hand write all of those!

    Thanks for the input.

  • If your list isn't terribly long, I'd just hand write them. Otherwise if you have a color printer at home that takes envelopes, you could design and print something on them from your computer.

Oh I hadn't thought about printing my own. Good idea! Thanks.

For my wedding & shower invites my mom printed them on clear labels then just stuck them on each envelope.

  • We order labels to mail cards (not just for Christmas) and use those year round. This year I bought them from Erin Condren (120 for $15 on a promotion), so it was fairly inexpensive. But, I wouldn't just buy Christmasy ones.

This all the way. I want to have them, but just end up writing it all.  We are moving again soon so I don't want to print anything out that has our address on it.

  • We got some with Vistaprint .. it was like $5-9 to ship but the labels themselves were free. If I didn't have them I would buy the clear labels from Office Max/Depot and print them myself.

Another vote for DIY on a home PC. Avery has a variety of label sizes, styles and colors, and their templates are very easy to use.

I used some silver ones for our wedding invites, and have been using the leftovers for Christmas cards for the past two years. I use clear ones for just about all our other mailings.
