  • I'm betting you could get hired for retail at practically every single store in any mall since it's still before the holiday season.  Just don't spend your paycheck on your discount!  I know mall jobs aren't glamorous but just to get you through the holidays?

  • I was at DSW in Tampa yesterday and they had a sign up saying they were hiring.

Also I'm sure you have already done this, but have you checked on craigslist?  I have found jobs on there in the past (legit ones).  I found my bridal shop job that I worked at a few years ago on craigslist.  They have a whole section for admin/office jobs.

No.. unless you are referring to the one from a few years ago where the guy found massage therapists online and met them in hotel rooms.

If you find a business hiring online, and you find out what the business is, you can easily look them up.  For example, Alfred Angelo (the store I got a job at) advertised online... Mangroves was advertising bartending positions online, Chipotle was advertising cashier positions online, etc.  Many companies advertise online and as long as you are going to a place of business in public, I think you are just as safe as anything else.
