help with brunch menu please
We are having a Christmas party/brunch (not on Christmas day) with about 12-14 adults and the same amount of children. I want to make sure I have plenty of food and a big enough variety that the children will find something they like. I'm thinking 1 or 2 egg casseroles, cinnamon rolls, french toast casserole or coffee cake, bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit....I feel like I'm having problems coming up with a well rounded menu. any ideas or suggestions? also, any tried and true egg casserole or other brunch-y recipes? tia.
Re: help with brunch menu please
I just did a brunch this past Saturday. This was my menu
cranberry bread, italian pasta salad, spinach quiche, fruit salad, honey baked ham, and goat cheese rolls. A huge hit. For dessert I did a cheesecake with assorted sweets/cookies. For a brunch that begins in early afternoon, you need a mix of breakfast and lunch items I think.
This. Add lunch foods if it's truly a brunch. If you're just serving a breakfast, you don't need the lunch items.

I'm of the opinion that you should always serve cinnamon rolls at breakfast and brunch
They are delish and everyone, including kids, love them. But you don't need coffee cake and cinnamon rolls, but could have french toast.
And I agree, the timing and what you call it will decide if you should have lunch items as well. Either a biscuit with the sausage or make it a roll and a different kind of meat.
Since it's definitely approaching lunchtime, what about something like this:
Baked fruit or baked apples
Yogurt
Egg casserole or quiche
Spiral ham with rolls
Brunch potatoes
Salad with a fruit dressing, like raspberry vinaigrette or lemon poppyseed
Coffee cake or pumpkin bread
Fruit muffins
Hot cranberry-orange cider, cocoa, other drinks

how about mini bagels w/cream cheese for the kids...you could add smoked salmon, capers + red onion for the adults.
