Nice wedding dress stores Boston area please :)

I am looking for a nice store in the Boston area (Providence area is fine as well) to buy my wedding dress. The few stores I have been to looked very old, run-down and  dirty, not what i expected considering the amount of money we are spending! Any store at the mall looked better than these!  Although it is not the most important thing to consider, I would like the shopping experience to be as memorable as  the wedding itself! Yes I watch Say yes to the dress and i dream about a similar experience :)

I found Cristina's in Andover, La Reine in Waltham, Country Weddings in hingham or Ana's bridal in Attleboro but the reviews I read are not the greatest. I am totally confused! Can some of you recommend or share their experience?

Thank you so much.

  • I haven't been but I've heard good things about Precious Memories in Malden and Bella Serra in Danvers
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • You might get more answers if you post this over on The Knot, too, if you haven't already.

Sorry, I don't know wedding dress shops in this area.  There are several on Newbury Street though.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Maybe Allegria in Belmont? My bus stops right outside there, and they always have the prettiest dresses, and the girls always look to be having fun trying the dresses on. Actually, now that I think of it, I worked with a girl who got a beautiful dress in their sample sale.
  • NOT Cristina's. Those people are awful, rude, and flippant.

My friend bought hers at Ana's and had a good experience there.

I bought mine off the rack at David's and it was fine, but obviously I did not care enough about my dress to spend thousands on it.

  • Out of all the places I went to....

Camilla's in Arlington MA was small, but nice....and I would have easily considered buying from them.

I got mine from Marry & Tux in Nashua NH though....pretty good selection, just a bit of a drive.

  • I was an Allegria bride-- that store is very nice Smile
  • I bought my dress at Bella Sera.  It's in Danvers now but was in Middleton when I went there.  The owners were really nice and the store itself was nice too.  I haven't been to their new location but I'm sure it's similar.

They always have the prettiest dresses in the window! As I mentioned the bus stops there, and sometimes we have to wait for the light to change, and I always stare at the dresses. And I love to see the brides twirling, complete with their entourages. (Even though dress shopping was the thing I wanted to do least when I was getting married, I love seeing other people enjoying pretty dresses.  I'm a weirdo.)
