I was thinking of you as I shopped for myself this weekend because you were floored that dh and i don't exchange gifts for the holidays, usually.
well, i got myself a three strand stretchy honora bracelet and a pair of cole haan ballet flats - i got exactly what i wanted in the right colors and size 
who needs dh to give it as a gift?! this is better than christmas gifts - for sure, i will not be disappointed!
then, i get these tiny clips from home depot for DH - they're like little mini clamps - every other year or so. they're 25 cents each or something super cheap - i get a handful or two. he loves them. uses them for everything. including as a snack clip. i add them to whatever bday gift i might be getting him that year. we lose a few along the way. this morning, he asked if he was due to get them this year because he could use more. i had to laugh - he's waiting on a gift that costs me $3 to get him, and he's asking for it! I think of all the nice things all your husbands ask for, and I thank my lucky stars DH is so cheap and easy!
that's right - i get cole haan and he gets clamps for a quarter.
