First big baby item purchased!
I'm pretty excited and can't wait to get our Uppababy Vista
I kept on going between the Uppababy and the Britax B-Ready, decided on the Uppababy. Mainly because it has the bassinet that comes with it, if I had to buy the bassinet separately it would be at least another $120 for the Britax. Also, it was on sale for over $200 off right now thanks to Cyber Monday!

Totally not taken the snarky way.. I'm not sure why the huge price tag. The biggest reason that I wanted this stroller is because of being able to add the second seat for another child.
I went round and round about either getting the Graco Travel system or getting one like the Uppababy. For us because we hope to have "several" children the Uppababy seems to be well worth the investment for me. If I planned to only have 2 I would never spend that much on a stroller.
For us, because we also bought one of my mom's old cribs that she used for us off of her for only $25 and it's in great shape. Plan to find a lower priced dresser to use for a changing table. With all the money we are saving on furniture we could justify spending some more on something else.

Thanks. The bolded part is pretty awesome. It is good you are cutting corners in some areas and are able to splurge in others. I just never "got" the super high priced baby stuff. My stuff works great, but the adding a seat thing is a great perk.

Very cool! That has to be so exciting, I can't imagine. We have our first baby product and we're not even trying yet lol I'm excited for it.
So I'm working at a new community and my new partner sold a house to a woman that wpros for the Boppy makin place. I told her my BFF was in labor and she said she'd bring me one for free. That night my BFF had her baby and I told her that i was getting one for her for free... Her response??? "YOU should keep it. I have plenty" before I could tell the lady I didn't need it she hadblready left it in my office. Lol so now I have a Boppy for a little boy!!!!!! Now I just need a baby. I love having it in my house though. I can't imagine what's it like to actually get stuff that is for a real baby on the way.

I'm far too cheap to ever spend more than $150.00 on a stroller lol. Good for you, Alise, I'm sure you'll love it
LOL.. trust me it wasn't an easy decision
It seems like a ton of money to put out for one, but I've heard a lot of good things about it!

$200 off is pretty sweet! Congrats on crossing a big purchase off the list.
I found strollers to be super stressful. In the end we are borrowing my sister's Bumbleride Indie right now. And I love it. My sister said she wishes she would have gotten a Phil and Ted's or something similar that has the second seat you can attach. I definitely notice a big difference in just the maneuverability of the Bumbleride versus some of the cheaper strollers. I think it totally depends what you are going to be using the stroller for (jogging, malls, off road, etc) and how much you will be using it to determine if it is worth it to splurge or not.
we have had our uppa baby vista since before eli was born. there were a few main features that were what made me get it. One was the ability to add a second seat because we plan on having a couple kids and by the time we have the second one I am sure Eli will still be using the stroller. I also was determined to find one where the seat could face me. This was awesome when he was younger because I could talk to him and occupy him, now he just wants to watch the cars. I also loved that the bassinet was included because they cost a fortune to add on.
after having it for a year i love all those things still but also REALLY love that the seat is high. when we are out and he is in the stroller and go out to eat i can just roll him right up to the table. I get so many comments on that feature.
Yay, congrats!!!
I 2nd everything Lindsay said. I have a Baby Jogger City Select and it was worth every penny. Anders sits high up, the seat is 100% adjustable whie he is in it, can be forward facing or face mom, handles terrain very well, and a 2nd seat can be added on which is not a rumble seat-pretty important to us.
We started out with a travel system and because of our uses for the stroller, I'm glad we invested in a BJCS. For us, there was a big difference between the two, and it's much easier to handle the BJCS than the chicco TS we have.
We also have a BOB revolution duallie for the 2, but are borrowing my friend's single for now. Best investment if you're running/walking regularly, but I wouldn't make the duallie my main stroller, the sucker is HUGE!
Congrats! I hated my travel system stroller and only used it a handful of times. It is important to find one that you love because you use it all the time. Size was a major factor for us so we just got a lightweight Combi stroller and I LOVE it! It folds so nicely, but I won't use it for an infant.
When we have the next one I think I am going to get a Baby Jogger City Mini stroller.
One thing that made me not get the Britax B-ready was the fact that in all the reviews people complained about how hard it was to fold the stroller. Guys said it was okayish but not easy, then if they had a 5 ft. wife she pretty much found it impossible. It's still fairly new on the market as well so it doesn't have the track record that the Uppababy does.
