Christmas Tree Ideas

Hello all,

This year the Husband and I are doing Christmas on our own. We have tickets to see the Rockettes and everything! This is our first Christmas at our place, so we want to do a real Christmas tree this year. The only problem is that we live in a one bedroom apt. I was thinking about doing a small potted tree, but I hear they only last a week indoors, and I was planning on getting a tree this weekend. Any ideas?

We didn't do a real tree, but we did get a fake tree that is 6.5 ft tall and we have a 1 BR apartment - 870 sq ft. Our layout is strange because we're in a circular high rise so we don't have many corners, but we were able to fit our tree in the corner by our dining room table. :) I know Lowes has real trees around 5 ft. tall for 20.00! I didn't feel like it took up that much room. My sister in law has a studio apartment [husband and son too] and they are getting a 5 ft. real tree this year! Maybe some rearranging for the holiday would make it easier? Good Luck! :)

  • When DH + I were in our apt, we got a fake one that was 7ft tall but slim and narrow. It was beautiful and fit just about any where... maybe that's a route you could go?
  • Yea, I'm thinking I just might go to Lowes or Home Depot. I think we have the room for 4-5 ft, maybe on the slimmer side. Thanks!
  • You can always do a small, table top tree.
  • a small table top tree would be cute! you could decorate the table around it, add a festive cloth and everything. that way its not taking up too much space .
    Visit The Nest!
  • That's a really cute idea! Thanks!

We've always gotten a giant live tree (I think one year it was 8 and bent over at the top where it hit the roof) when we lived in one bedroom apartments.
