Let's See Your Christmas Tree

Just about finished the tree last night. Tonight's task is to finish the mantle.
Re: Let's See Your Christmas Tree
Stand up for something you believe in.
Ooh, I'll have to take a picture when I get home tonight. I made decorating the house my post-Thanksgiving "workout" on Friday, so I kind of went all out in our littler space.
Pictures later!

This is just the top since I am experimenting with new toppers (I can't find the "perfect" topper yet so I am filling the space with ribbon/glittery stuff).

I love the ribbon! I wish we could do ribbon, but our cats insist on tearing it (and thereby the tree) to shreds!
Here's our tree this year.
We went with a fake one since we'll be traveling this holiday season. And B is helping us decorate!

I have a toddler who would probably pull down the entire tree too--so the ribbon is only about 3 feet long
Same reason why the "nice" ornaments are up high and the "non breakables" are down low! Between LA and the dog who likes to run under the tree (???), nothing is safe!
My Valentine Bookends (2~13~13, 2~15~09)
We don't have a topper or very many ornaments for our tree, and the bottom is bare because of the cats and my toddling goddaughter who I watch during the day. But I'm pretty happy with it. The goal is colorful and cheerful and far from perfect
I love everyone's trees! So festive.
We're in our 3rd year of using plastic ornaments (thank you Martha Stewart!) because of the cats. Ha! We tried the ribbon one year and I don't know how many times I fixed it each day, but the cat would just go after it over and over. And then we ditched the ribbon and tried our nice ornaments, but our new kitten took a run and leaped at the tree breaking a favorite one of mine. Plastic since. Same kitten climbed up the tree this year.

Ha! We have this same issue with one of our cats, too! You can kind of see it in my avatar. Fortunately, kitty is pretty small and we anchored the tree to the wall behind it with wire, so there weren't any ornament casualties. They do like to bat the ornaments on the bottom, though, so those have to be non-breakable.

Here's ours:
You can see the holes where naughty critter has already been climbing...and the offending critter next to the tree.
And here's a picture of last year's escapades:
