Bestest Recipes please...
Hi! Am hosting our neighbors this coming Sunday for a special "Thank You" dinner. (Long story short: they shared their generator during our Halloween Snow Storm. We were out of power for 6 days and they ran a line to our house for us to have heat)
Older couple - no dietary restrictions.
What do I serve? Please share your very bestest ideas/recipes please.
TIA
Re: Bestest Recipes please...
How kind of them!
Definitely a beef occasion IMO.
Tenderloin with port reduction and blue cheese
Roast beef
Standing rib roast
Roasted sliced potatoes
Some green veggie - I never have good recipes for those
Caramel pecan tart or
Hazelnut cheesecake (I've made this and it's incredible)

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I want to eat Tar's menu. I was thinking beef before she posted, do some nice roasted potatoes, or even a root veggie mix- redskin potatoes, carrots, parnips, rutabega. Sugar snap peas are also an easy green side that I adore. Have a nice bread basket too.
I'd also do some sort of starter- individual shrimp cocktail or a pumpkin soup.
This cake is divine:

Thanks for the recipes. I was thinking beef - but don't usually serve it on Sunday. I think we will though.
They were incredibly kind.
