Good Wednesday Morning

It seems so odd that we didn't get a flake of snow and other peope received 8 inches.

Re: Good Wednesday Morning

  • TH ticked me off this morning. He is always so quick to argure a point that he doesn't even listen to what I'm telling him. We bought a new cordless phone system this weekend and he asked if I recorded a greeting yet for it. I said "we use voice mail through AT&T so it doesn't matter."   he replies "I know that, did you record a greeting."  I kept trying to explain that our voice mail goes through AT&T has has nothing to do with the actual phone. The greeting is recorded in their system and not through the phone.  He couldn't get that through his head and kept thinking I wasn't answering his question and then he got pissy with me.  If he would have stopped talking long eough for me to talk and if he had give him self five second to process the information he would have figured it out.

Ughh...also at times he will take exactally what I said and reword to make it look I was arguing against that point and he was right.  He drives me freakin crazy sometimes. Indifferent

  • Crazy morning!  I encountered 6+ police cars speeding and squealing tires around corners on my way to drop R off at daycare.  After dropping R off, I was driving to work and there were police cars EVERYWHERE blocking off streets, and it appeared they were looking for someone.  I quick called my daycare lady because this was only a few miles from her house and told her to double check that all her doors were locked.  She later texted me that there was a bank robbery.  Scary!  Now I'm all worried.

I am SO THANKFUL for this.

  • Everyone is welcome for the lack snow. If we wouldn't have prepared at work there would have been a blizzard, I'm sure. LOL!

Yep, a credit union on 36th street was robbed just before 8 this morning. These kind of things are getting nuts! Don't these idiots see that people don't really get away with robbing banks?

GVSU.....sounds like your H went into attorney mode. You're a good person for not beating him up. LOL!

Good morning everyone! I hope you have a great day!

I hate when he gets this way....hate hate hate it!

Scary about the bank robbery. Way too much of that going on lately.

  • Morning!  Sorry I am not around more, but a certain Mister does not like to nap. :)  Leaving me with very little free (aka nesting) time.  However he has been asleep for almost 14 hours now! Surprise (with 2 wake ups to eat)

As for the snow, we got a snow storm here last night...  well according to the news we did anyway.  We got a whopping 3.3 inches.  You would have thought we got 3 feet the way the news is talking about it.  Oh just one of the many differences on this side of the state.

  • Morning, pals.  I was up late last night listening to narrated powerpoints and podcasts from my professor.  Does anyone remember the micromachine man commercials?  That's how he talks on these.  It's exhausting to listen to.

The bank robberies are a sad indicator of how desperate people are now.  I had to go into a bank a few weeks ago.  I normally use the drive through or ATM.  I was totally paranoid about the people coming in after me.  Silly, I know, but...

GVSU, sorry about the H.  So, did you record the greeting yet? ;)  When he left, did he finally understand?

Some people sing in the shower.  My husband practices enthusiastic political speeches and retorts.

He finally got it, but I was the one who wasn't answering the question correctly, I was giving him information he didn't need. Confused

  • Good morning!

GVSU, sorry to hear that your husband's attorney mode switched on before he got to the office today.  That sounds really frustrating.

Wop, that sounds like a nerve-wracking morning with all of the police cars.

    Mira, nice to see you!

  • Grrr to that. I'm sorry.

Yeah... very interesting.  Does he have political ambitions, GRSP?

  • We didn't get anything, not even a dusting and we live on the SE side. DH works in Lansing and said the roads were awful last night and still this morning.  Crazy!

Today I am taking Hudson to visit Tutor Time as we may be switching daycare for proximity purposes.  I hope he likes it.  Then I need to check at least a couple things off my Christmas list and pick up my groceries at Meijer.  I'm probably doing more than I should but someone's got to do it!

  • Very sad story warning.  I've debated posting this, but you guys are good with suggestions, so...

Last night, a newish friend (not anyone y'all know, as far as I know) called in tears.  Her husband told her yesterday that he doesn't want to be a part of their family anymore.  She has a disease that causes significant disability.  As do their 2 kids.  She doesn't work.  Together, they're barely scraping by.  She can't drive.  And, he's leaving them.

What can I do for her?

  • Morning all.

GVSU - I'm guess the answer he was looking for was a simple Yes I recorded a message. My DH is the same way. Simple answer work best.

Speaking of DH mine turned 35 today and I'll be making vegetable lasagna tonight in the crock pot with salad and garlic rolls on the side. I also picked up 4 new shirt, 2 long and 2 short sleeved for Target adding to his growing collection on black shirts.

I'm also glad that we didn't get any snow. We still haven't gotten the snow tires yet.

Connect her with United Way 211 so she can find the resources she needs. This is a much bigger issue than you help her with.

In the mean time, maybe you can pitch a few  basic needs to certain friends and everyone could chip in and get a few things for Christmas. You could always do a drop and go with Christmas presents.   I would be in for a few gifts.

Omgosh, that is so horrible.   Sad

I don't know what you can do.  Maybe offer to drive her places she needs to go...grocery store, bank, lawyer's office.

    Oh, wow.  That's terrible.

Probably the best thing you can do is be there for her to talk to and offer support.  Other than that, just make sure she has access and contact information to the local resources that she needs -- transportation, health care, etc.

Yup, I've learned to answer people this way as well.  It's just not worth the extra words when they won't get it anyway.

Happy birthday to your H!  Mine will be 35 soon too.

  • I went to bed at 10 last night - that was early for me. I wasnt feeling well.

  • Thanks for your suggestions and replies, ladies.  I'm making a list of how I can be helpful for logistics.  I'm also trying to practice some good boundaries.  My hyper-empathetic nature is trouble sometimes.

  • Good afternoon, Nesties. Coming to you live from my couch thanks to Mother Nature ;) We got dumped on majorly... I think 8-9" plus it rained ALL day yesterday. Temp dropped and then the rain all froze. Nasty mess around here! The H tried to go to work last night b/c there were computer issues and he ended up turning around and then got stuck in the road, then stuck in our driveway. My dad didn't end up going to work last night, either. He got stuck in his road. It's so weird how the storm worked this time.

  • Ok so remember how we were forced to hook up to city water and sewer back in July and pay thousands and thousands of dollars to do so?

We got a letter in the mail from the water company yesterday informing us that their water has recently tested very high for lead.

In the letter was 1) a phone number to call for information on how to get our water tested, and 2) some tips on how to avoid using lead infested water for drinking/cooking/baby formula.  That was it.  No explanation on how they plan to fix this for the future.

We're pretty upset about this.  I want my well water back.

Oh my, that is so sad.  Can I ask what kind of disease she and her kids have?  Its not Cystic Fibrosis, is it?  If so, there are tons of resources out there for her and her kids.  She should be able to go on some sort of disability if it prevents her from working, right?  MY T&P's are with your friend.

Yep, tomorrow morning.  DH thinks it will be D-day so I'm just tying up a few loose ends.  I was only out for about 2 hours and I think I'm done for the day.  No worries, but thanks for thinking of me.  =)

I'm sorta starting to get baby fever again.
