Need Pediatrician Rec

Anyone have one near Collegeville/Phoenixville. They don't need to be vax delayed friendly, because I won't let them stick my son. I'm so furious at our current doctor I don't know what to do.

Re: Need Pediatrician Rec

  • Wait, you won't let them give him any vaccinations at all ever or you don't like them so you won't let them give him a needle?

I was wondering the same. I just read an article about how the Midwest has an alarming amount of children who are not being vaccinated because their parents will not allow it. Public Health peeps are worried because many diseases even such as whooping cough are quite deadly and are easily avoided by getting the vaccine. It article sounded like they were most worried about children not receiving the MMR vaccine because they are more potentially deadly diseases that are easily spread. I wish I could find the article. It was pretty good.

Dr. Nancy Snyderman was talking about this on TODAY yesterday. Scary stuff. She was saying that our generation is so far removed from being around epidemics like polio that too many parents think the risk isn't real.

    Sorry to hijack the post...

  • Sorry that I posted and ran. Brooks is delayed on his vaccines and won't be getting them all but the Dtap for me was a no brainer. Whopping cough is too scary and my husband is a college professor where students live on campus, too much of a risk.

    So no recs?

I know they do a delayed schedule (we didn't with LO #1, but may with LO#2) because some of my friends have with their little ones. One friend's daughter had a major (not life threatening) eating issue and the one doctor even gave her her cell# and told her to call anytime. (She has)

They have a sick/well side to the office. They only have 2 doctors, the front office staff is super friendly, although I've only been going there two months I've never had a scheduling issue. I had nursing/breastfeeding issues with DS#2 that I didn't have with DS#1 and they (more so than my obgyn) really helped me work through it, even though it wasn't a child issue. She even told me she was willing to write me a script if needed for my end of the issue.
