One Fit Mama - anyone done it?
Did I mention I need to get back into my fitness routine?
I think making it to they gym every day is a pipe dream for now. I'm not sure how young the babies at LA Fitness childcare are, but I'm not comfortable leaving Baby Z there until he's bigger.
I'm interested in One Fit Mama but not sure about the workouts. I see they involve pushing strollers and "resistance training." I worked out until the day I delivered so I'm not really into non-exertional stuff and I am not a fan of yoga.
Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!
Re: One Fit Mama - anyone done it?
I think babies have to be 6months +.
Eagles did some sort of baby class with Charlie might want to page her.
I've never done One Fit Mama, but I can recommend the Power90 stuff from BeachBody. It's the same company that makes P90X. I'm scared to death of P90X and unwilling to put in an hour and a half a day, but the Power90 series is closer to 45 minutes and worked great for me.
Even after my 90 days were done, I kept doing the strength training workout and alternated it with running. Then I got too hardcore on the racing (never attempt to train for a half marathon in 10 weeks when you've only bothered to keep up 3 miles a few times a week all winter) and now I'm doing the Power90 Master Series and it is kicking my butt.
It's in home stuff, all you need is a resistance band and a few small weights if you want them (I have a set of 5s for the really ridiculously hard and high rep sets).
I did Baby Boot Camp and loved it. It was definitely more than running around with a stroller. We did a lot of squats and lunges, used resistance bands, mixed with running/jogging (depending on your comfort level). Then we would do about 15-20 minutes of core work. I liked it a lot
I also took the most amazing hardcore class at The Lithe Method. It's like a yoga-pilates mix and it was seriously the hardest workout I had ever done. The babies were in an adjacent room with mother's helpers.
LAF takes infants at 3 months old. Some people just wheel in their stroller with baby in their infant seat sleeping - one woman at my LAF did this with twins! I would nurse before I went and chances are, Z will sleep through your workout. You could also tell them just to come get you if he wakes, or leave a bottle/paci
