I suck at being pregnant

I am looking at the YMCA online because I'm pretty sure we are going to join as a family after my Shapes membership expires.  I almost clicked on "get a guest pass" when I realized right now I don't have the motivation to walk across the room.  Yet when I see my Dr and they say "how are you feeling" and in my head I want to say "OMG I am so stretched out I think I'm dying" instead what comes out is "great" mostly because I'm pretty sure this is normal, and I'm just a wimp.  I go on the bump on Dec and Jan birth month boards to whine but so many of them are already having their babies early I can't go there, it's freaky.  I think they are willing their babies out and I want mine to cook a lot more.  OK I feel better now.  I hate to complain to H because he hates to see me uncomfortable so I figured I'd let my fingers do the whining.

  • I vote wimp, but I totally love to whine, so I get it.  ;)  You're almost there!

  • I have no idea what it feels like to be pregnant, but I think you have every right to complain at 8 months in.  And yay for the YMCA.  I love my Y and think it's a great place for a family.  As a kid, I walked home from school and stopped in the Y every day to hang out.
  • The town I grew up in was too small to have a Y but I loved working there in college and becoming a part of the community there.  I worked with the respite program and did the summer camp.  I didn't even realize there is a full facility down the road from me, I thought we only had an "express".  I was looking into swim lessons for LO.  They don't start those until 5 yrs old but they do provide day care hours so I can get workouts in, yay!

  • Dude. Carrying a baby is no joke. So if you feel like whining, go right ahead. When my friends talk about their perfect pregnancies I want to punch them in the boob. I WISH being pregnant was "fun" for me.
  • At least you're 3 weeks ahead of me!  I'm getting sick of being pregnant too and I'm only at 32 weeks.  But I miss being able to bend over and pick things up off the ground.  And walking fast.  I am not looking forward to struggling to put on socks and snow boots and then waddle around Chicago...

  • Well this made me thankful that I can still wear flip flops.  You aren't going to be walking to work in the winter are you?  That's crazy talk.

How's this for awesome?  I can't see my belly button.  I realized it today in the shower.  I tried to look at it to see if it's going to pop out, but it's on the downward slope of the belly and I can no longer see it with out a mirror.  If you would have asked me before today if I thought that was humanly possible I would have said oh hell no.

  • Our new apartment is 0.7 miles (about a 12 minute walk) to the train...this won't be bad once I'm not pregnant, but I'm not excited about it now.  The other end is probably another 5 minutes from the train to my office.  That should be interesting, especially since I plan to work until I go into labor.  Oh the joys of city living...and being too poor to afford a good place closer to the train.

  • Sara, H got on my case for doing the same thing.  Now he makes sure when I go to the Dr. that I tell them everything.  And I mean every episode of dizziness (like when I flip my head over quickly drying my head), swollen feet (after a full day of work), etc even if they sound like normal stuff for pregnancy.

This.  Usually the same ones whose baby never cries.

And who have their kid potty trained by 6 months. :P

  • Don't feel bad at all.  It's totally normal to slow down so late in your pregnancy.  Before you know, that baby will be out and you'll be a new sort of exhausted.
