I'm not touching the post below with a ten foot pole.
What shots will milo get at his first year? And after 1 year when are well visits every six months or 3?
Re: S/o vacs one year?
I honestly can't remember what shots they got at one year, it has been over a year for me. Definitely MMR. But I have it in their file, I will check later on.
After 1 year, they have check-ups at 18 mos and 2 years, both of which involve shots. Then the next well check isn't until 3 years and doesn't involve any shots. They go again at 4 and get shots
DS 3.12.08
DD 7.11.09
DD 8.01.13
This is the schedule per my pedi's office.

ds is good with the shots, cries for a second but as soon as i pick him up he is fine.
it is the aftermath that stinks for us- lethargic and fever for the rest of that day and the following day. we started dosing him with tylenol before the appt and it seems to help a bit. they just wipe him out. we need round 2 of the flu shot (booster) but he has been sick so we have to wait.
the ped gave us the option of waiting a week between shots (2 one week and then 2 more the following week) to see if it lessened the reaction- it didn't. poor kid was then icky for more days.
good luck with milo! hopefully you have one of the rockstar nurses and they are able to do them quickly and as pain-free as possible.
I remember before I had Tommy people would say that they would cry when their baby got shots and I would always think that was so weird. I never thought I would cry just because he got upset.
Yeah, total crier over here.
Tommy loves our Dr so he's always so happy in the office not expecting anything then he gets stuck and it's one of those screams that starts off silent for 30 seconds then pops your eardrums. Then he always looks at me like, why mom..why? Ugh, I hate that I am the only one who ends going with him to these visits.
I give so many props to our pedis office -- it is over before it starts. He only cries on the shots that burn, and as soon as he is picked up, he is fine.
I keep hoping he will be one of those kids that takes like a seven hour nap after his shots, but no dice. He has always been status quo.
Tommy totally passes out. Only bonus for me having to watch him get shots.
ditto. long azz nap followed by him sleeping so long i have to check repeatedly to make sure he is still breathing in the morning (seriously like 14 hours of sleeping). we now schedule shots for fridays so mama can sleep in on saturday.
It looks like at 12 months emma got her first Hep A and PCV13 #4. She did have a 15 month appt, she didn't get her MMR or varicella until then.
She has her 18 month appt tomorrow, I'm dreading more shots. We just had her blood drawn yesterday. Poor girl. Poor mommy.
At a year, Claire got a flu shot, the mmr vaccine, chicken pox vaccine and hepatitis, I think.
She was pretty much fine that day, but did have a slight reaction like 2 weeks later - slight fever and crankiness for a few hours (the doctor mentioned this could happen with the MMR vaccine).
Good luck! I hate the shots.
I requested to not have a certain nurse at my last Ped because she so sucky at giving DS his shots at 12 mos. One she DUG into his thigh and twisted it because he was wiggling. Uh duh lady I told you he is strong and I should help hold his legs and he hates this.... She said, I'll be able to get it on my own....
I seriously almost pushed her off of him. Would have if she didn't have a damn needle in her hand.
Yup we got two one at 9 months and one at 10. Because its their first year it apparently is better to get two.
