Too tired for a Throwdown...

The Town of Braintree decided they wanted to jackhammer outside my house... at 10:30pm.  Loki was not a fan, but luckily Sam slept through it... I wish I could say the same for myself.  Therefore, I has not the energy to throwdown on this Thursday, but if someone would like to take it away, by all means... Z_z

I'm about to snap on a co-irker

This is the same lady who calls in sick after or before a weekend or vacation day using the same excuse. It has gotten out of hand. (At least every other month) Then she also takes days off without pay which I have no issue with. Here is the problem...

She made a dr appointment for 8:30 yesterday (her start time at work) so she didn't come in until after 10am (10:15 ish) So she puts 10am start time on her time card. Then proceeds to take her usual break at 10:30. So she is gone another half hour. Then come 11am she goes out for a smoke.

This is getting ridic. Use one of your days off for your appointments and if you can't, don't think that you can come in 2 hours later and still take your breaks and lunch hour. You don't get paid lunched biitch! Plus she goes out to smoke damn near every hour. If I don't get to leave my desk every hour why the hell should you!!

Adrian is sick. He has had a cough for over two weeks and it just got worse. I should have kept him home and stayed with him, but I have a Friday deadline for two separate projects. I almost cried dropping him off at DC.

Thankfully, my boss left the office and won't return because her kid is sick. It makes me feel evil to say that I am kind of glad about it. It means I can take off early to take Adrian to the doctor, and not feel guilty about my deadline, because she won't have time to get her feedback to me.

OK so I have this friend on FB who is miserable, and goes so far out of her way to make everyone miserable, too.  She's also one of those people who posts vague FB statuses, and when they're not interpreted to her liking, she lashes out at anyone and everyone.  She's also one of those people who, I swear, goes out of her way to hate everything that the general populace likes, if only to cause a ruckus and be different. 

Example?  Her FB status today read: Oh, boy, the first day of December, oh, the joy and the glory. Ugh. I hate the holidays so damn much. Why can't I hibernate until they're all over? Bah humbug. For real. I hate Christmas.

So here come her friends to tell her to cheer up, that the holidays are what you make it, etc... who would have thought it would turn into a tirade about how miserable she is with her mother's passing 1.5 years ago, and how she would never enjoy the holidays because that was when her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and that we're all terrible people for trying to tell her how to grieve/feel. 

Because we're all supposed to know that.... I give up.

ETA:  To add to the awesome?  DEFRIENDED!  People, man.... oh well, she just beat me to it anyway.

I am seriously annoyed with change.org. Before it was the petition to stop Black Friday from opening early.  Now there is one for prisoners who only get to eat twice on Saturdays.  Seriously? Of all the causes in the world, that is what you get behind? What about the homeless people or people at home who would kill for 2 meals a day?

If you are into reforming the criminal justice system, what about racial inequality/disproportionality in the prison system? Or serious human rights violations?

I signed up for your e-mails because of the work on getting signatures for laws against human trafficking.  Now you are just pissing me off.

I am pretty sure SIL (the one who's totes getting a plane) kicked me off the family email list. Over the summer she threw a hissy fit because people weren't replying to the weekly emails she sends out with links to 80+ photos of our nephew that she uploaded to snapfish with "Boy those are great photos!" or anything. I decided not to play into her hissy fit and I haven't gotten any nephew photos since September. And honestly, right now I'm okay with that. He's family and I love him, but I can only look at so many photos in one sitting, and sending a reply to her web-service-generated email isn't always #1 on my priority list.

And a confession: I had to push a 465lb patient in a wheelchair all the way through my department today. I thought I was going to die. My legs burned, my shoulder locked up, it was horrible. She was a nice lady, but geez I wish someone else had volunteered to push that wheelchair.

Cosigned, but please substitute "because of the work on allowing gay couples to adopt foster children".

And I love me some prisoners, but the issue of 2 hot meals/ day does not= 2 meals, if you get a bagel or cereal and juice, you're doing better than 75% of the adult population most mornings.
