Looking for any ideas on restaurants, attractions or shops in Sapporo! We are going for 2 days at Christmas. I'll be exploring mostly without DH since he has games, but a couple other women are going as well so I'm hoping to have some ideas/plans made soon! TIA
Re: Sapporo recs?
I went for a long weekend, but that was in the summer, and I actually only spent about a half day in Sapporo itself. I ended up going out to Furano to see the lavender fields, and then did some hiking in the Daisetsuzan National Park. In Sapporo itself, there was a clock tower and a botanic garden I went to, and you can go to the top of Mt Moiwa for a good view of the city.
I have a photo album from my trip to Hokkaido on FB if you want to take a look - it's from back in summer of 2007.

Food, Food, Food:
Best meal ever: Garlic Black Sesame Ramen in the shopping center adjacent to the train station (8th floor food court). I would take their ramen over a michelin-starred restaurant any day of the week.
Went to Giulio's old restaurant twice on a short trip. It was amazing (for a price). This is his new place:
Genovese Bar e Ristorante
South 3 West 8, Tashiro Building 1 F
Chuo-ku, Sapporo City.
Ground floor on Minami 3 jou dori.
Tel. (011) 2517024
Open Mon to Sat, 17:30 ~ 24:00
Taj Mahal (several restaurants in town): best indian food north of Tokyo.
