Do you have a real or fake Christmas tree?
Re: Xmas tree poll
Only real for us! So many great memories when I was young of actually going out with my dad to cut down our trees. I love the look and smell of them. I can't imagine going fake, and I've managed to get DH on board as well.
We haven't gotten one yet, but will when we get back from our trip next week.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
We usually have both!
A small 90cm fake tree and then a big real tree. Not sure we will get a real tree this year though as we may be travelling on Christmas.
We are doing a fake tree this year. If we were back home, we would go real for sure. I love the way they smell.
Real!!! I love the smell...
I was cycling into work yesterday morning and went past a place that sells them and got the smell... aahhh... and they weren't even open at the time... just that smell...
(we put a little water in the bottom of the stand and the needles don't shed quite as much...)
We have fake trees (3 last year, I guess we'll do that this year too, we have 'em after all!)
I would love love love to have at least 1 of them be real, however, I'm allergic and will get very very itchy if we get one. I already have to endure that at work, so I'm more than happy to escape the itchies at home.

What I'm looking forward to in 2012:
Eating our way through (northern) Italy on vacation
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DWe have a tiny fake one out here (2ft). When we are in the US, we have a large fake one (5ft). I have never had a real tree. My mom tells me horror stories about her friend's tree that fell over TWICE in one Christmas and broke all her ornaments.
DH used to get real trees, and says they are a huge PIA. The first Xmas in our first house though I would like to get a real one. I have heard they smell wonderful and it is so nice to have one.
In the meantime, I am enjoying a Christmas Tree scented Yankee Candle as well
We're headed to the Maldives on Christmas Eve!
Fake all the way, lol. I love the smell of a real tree but I just don't want the hassle of it. Plus, with all the other extra expenses associated with the holidays it's nice to not have to buy the tree.
And I even go a step further and buy pre-lit. I hate trying to string lights around the tree!!

No tree this year. No room.
Do most people not water their tree? Maybe that's why everyone complains about real trees being messy. I grew up with a fake tree and I just assumed that real ones were watered. The past few years, I've gotten real, watered it, and it wasn't messy at all, so I've been kinda confused about people complaining about it. The first day, it goes through water really fast, but after that it isn't much work to keep it watered. *shrug*
We got our first full-size tree this year! I'm so excited, I put a ridiculous number of pictures on facebook, ha.
We've gotten tiny, 1 foot trees before in our small apartments. In our last apartment it was too small for even a little tree like we'd had before. But our house now has plenty of room and DH took me out today for a tree. It smells so good in here, I love it!
