Re: It's Friday, It's Friday

  • Lucky you!!!

Today is "Free Food Friday" in my world.  Work is providing breakfast and lunch, and my mom invited me over for dinner tonight.  Party!!!

  • I don't get my computer. Sometime it prints, other times it doesn't. Yesterday it would pritn a Word document but not any emails or online stuff which sucks because I was trying to print coupons and some oneline directions.
  • For those of you that are not on FB with me, I just posted this.

PLANNING AHEAD FAIL - Right after Halloween, I sorted through the girls' candy to find treats that would fit in their Advent Calendar box and ones that we had two of the same kind. I put it in aseparate bag. Somehow Brian thought that was candy for us, so I just discovered the other night that he ate it up all.

I couldn't believe he did that. It was funny but I'm also annoyed because I had enough good treats for about every 2 days.  Did he think itwas just concidenence that I there were two pieces of each kind of candy in the box. Ughh! Now I have to come up with some new ideas and i really didn't want to buy more candy.

  • Morning all. I wish we had Free Food Fridays here.

Planning ahead Fail: ooppss Brian! I guess he will have to replace it with twice as much. Same amount for the girls and the rest for you!

DH went to the Dr yesterday and while the strep test came back Negative, the Dr said Um..Nope...I'm seeing Strep. 10 days of Penicillin for my Ry-guy. My Mom went and picked up new toothbrushes and Listerine and tea for throat care.

My Snowman are up and I'll have to post a picture when we do the Tree Tour. I added lights to them and today I'm going to hang ornaments from the porch ceiling for more festive fun.

  • GVSU, how about instead of candy, you do beads?  You can buy a variety pack at Hobby Lobby, and as they go through advent, the girls could put each bead on a stretchy cord for a bracelet.

  • We went to the new Uccello's in Grandvile last night.  It was really good.  I was surprised there wasn't a wait to sit down.  Food was really good and we had a $10 off $30 food purchase coupon, BONUS!

  • GRNow just posted this on FB:

Just announced: a December 7 casting call for actors and extras for a new comedy to be shot in Rockford titled 'A Dog for Christmas'. It stars Sherman Hemsley from 'The Jeffersons', Dustin Diamond (Screech on 'Saved by the Bell') and Richard Karn (Al on Home Improvement).

With a cast like that, it's BOUND to be a blockbuster, right? Too bad they didn't have one of the Designing Women cast members too.

  • Hi!

GRSP, I just saw the end of yesterday's randoms.  Congrats to your husband (and you and the kids)!  Great news!

Wop, we live by a Uccello's.  They've got great pizza.

  • We went to the Eastown Shop Hop last night.  It was disappointing.  There were way too many people out and the stores were packed.  Like, you could barely get in the doors, let alone see the the products that were for sale.  Good for Eastown.  Bad for my patience.

We did visit Uncle Cheetah's Soup Shop for dinner.  It was the first time we'd been there and it was wonderful!  The food was awesome.  That alone made the evening worthwhile.  (Good food is high on my priority list.)

That sucks! Maybe they will offer this event more often during the holiday season. It would be nice if they could offer the trolley for several nights.

  • Oh, and remember how I posted about family gifts for B's sisters earlier this week?  Well, B decided that this year we should get them all individual gifts.  Okay.  His reasons were good, and I'm not opposed to it.  I'm just a little overwhelmed about having to shop for nine more people, particularly since we really only see them at Christmas, so I don't know what they'd like.

I think the younger kids will be relatively easy.  But the three teenage boys are stumping me.  Deeder, help!  What do teenage boys like?

I agree.  It would be really nice if it were a multi-day event.  I heard several people comment that there were more people out than usual.  Maybe the bigger crowd will lead to some changes.

Or maybe it was just a fluke this year because the weather was relatively decent.

  • For the teens, I would stick with Gift cards. I know it isn't personal but that age is so hard to shop for.

Heh.  :-)  Maybe I didn't phrase my question quite right.

    I have no clue. ;)

Mine would like 40 acres, a ford truck and dog and to be alone. Oh and a coffee maker. LOL

What are the ages of the teens?  iTunes card is a pretty safe bet. Target usually has a 3pak of $10 cards. Video games and accessories tend to be expensive. If one of them is driving age a Gas card and Subway GC would probably work.

  • Me, too!  LOL.  I had my MFM appointment yesterday and the baby's fluid levels are back up a bit. Everything else looks great!  I can't believe I've made it this far!  3 weeks ago I thought for sure we'd be delivering before Thanksgiving. My next appointment is on Tuesday and we get to see how much/if baby has grown at all.  If not, I'll probably have the baby on Wednesday.

This weekend is a busy one.  Tonight we have a neighborhood Christmas party and tomorrow we're having friends over. I'd also like to go to Toys R Us and get all of Hudson's gifts done.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    14, 16, and 17.

I had thought of gas cards for the older two.  iTunes cards a really good idea though.

Hehe.  This is totally something I could see my DH doing.  This year is the first year we've hung up our Advent Calendar.  I went to Target and perused their $1 bins and got a bunch of little things to stuff in the tiny stockings on ours...chocolate gold coins, chocolate Santa Clauses, those plastic pellets you put in warm water and they turn to foam shapes, Lightening McQueen socks, glow in the dark wall decals, Tic Tacs.  It was fun and brought back lots of memories from when I was a kid.

  • There is a fresh cut Christmas tree in our lobby here at work.  It smells wonderful.  I keep finding reasons to walk up there just so I can sniff the tree.  LOL.

  • I'm so happy that the weekend is starting soon.  Ha.

(Sorry, it just hit me that tomorrow is SATURDAY.  Yay.)

That was pretty much the first thing I thought when my alarm went off this morning.

  • Yesterday felt like Friday to me, so today is going to drag.  At least we have game time during lunch for prizes!  A present wrapping contest, and BINGO!

Depending on what your looking at spending your could do $10 gas card and iTunes card for the 2 older ones and the iTunes card and ear phones for the younger. That would make it $20 each.

SS hasn't asked for much b/c he understands who tight $ is. If he is interested or wants something he find online he sends me a link and I'll add it to his amazon wish list. His list is has a wide range of items from Welding googols and long john's to a PS3 Driving wheel.

  • Thanks for your help, Deeder!

Are Lego advent calendars real? Or did make that up? When Henry is older I think those would be fun.

  • Grrrrr! I sent 4 emails from my phone last night. None of them went through. Now I have to write them all over again. It's really not that big of a deal but I had one person who thought I was ignoring them.

Great idea, but my kdis are like trained rats in a maze searching for their cheese. They know there will be candy in there.  ha ha!!

Actually I will keep that idea for next.   I think I can round up enough candy between here and we have some mini mini candy bars at work that I can take home. We have some spiced gum drops left over from halloween that we plan on putting in there. It is just a bummer because I already had that candy sorted and ready to go.  It is my fault though because I never told him that what that bag was for and l never bothered putting it away.

Maybe I will buy the dried marshmallows (like Lucky Charms marshmallows) from Ken's Fruit market and use some of those. hee hee.. Mmmm...

Ken's has some pre-wrapped bulk candy for a great price that I can pick up.
