Derek and I got to sleep in today. I decided to take the day off and he's headed into work after the u/s. Right now there's bacon on the stove and eggs waiting to go. Yumm.
Last night we took advantage of some sales and picked up a few Christmas gifts. I think we're coming along well, though we still have a ways to go.
Tomorrow we're headed up 2.5 hours north of our place to a) look at a car at a dealership my step dad's friend owns and b) go to a party at a friend of ours. They moved to a house that's basically a cottage and he commutes an hour+ into Toronto for work.
What does everyone else have on the go this weekend?

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

Re: Happy Friday!
Happy car shopping Raynes. Is this going to be your mom-mobile?
I was down for the count last night with my cold. I'm now into the talking like a squeaking duck phase. Jackson thinks it's hilarious and laughed at me all last night. I guess that would be the upside to this stupid cold. I'm more annoyed that DH had a runny nose for a few days and my cold is turning into some sort of pneumonia type insanity.
Tonight will be a total lounge fest. I'm thinking bed by 8:00 or so and leaving DH to fend for himself once again. I just need to sleep through this cold and I should start to feel better.
Tomorrow is bridesmaid dress shopping with my BFF, picking up my SS's gift, fabric shopping for curtains in the dining room and lunch. Sunday I'm working...hopefully the last weekend of my life.
Good morning! Our move yesterday took forever. It was ridiculous. If we'd been more organized (and I'd cared more), we could have been SO much more efficient. Ah well, lesson learned. No matter where you're moving too, always pack first. Right now, due to our lack of boxes, half of our new living room is covered with books.
Now that we're in, I'm really happy that we decided to take this place, but there are a few downgrades from the place next door that I want fixed. The fridge here is ridiculously small. Like, it holds my condiments. And nothing else. It also looks like it was made in 1970.
I'm hoping it'll meet it's demise in the next couple of weeks.
We also have a super crappy paint colour in the bathroom (it's in the kitchen and solarium too, but it doesn't offend me there) that I'm calling baby poo brown. We may hire someone to deal with that.
So, it's a work in progress and hopefully by the end of the weekend everything will have found its home.

TGIF! We're heading back across the pond tomorrow - I'm going to spend the weekend in Ottawa and then head down to meet up with DH in NYC on Monday night. So looking forward to catching up with family and friends. I think we're also heading to a Prince concert tomorrow night in Ottawa, so that should be a blast! It's been way too long since I've been back.
So, just a few more hours of work to go, then a goodbye party for friends that are moving, and then finish up packing while hopefully catching up on some tv before we leave. It could be a late night!
We also just got back from a dr appt, but I'll post an update in a separate post.

Good morning! Jim and I went to the tree lighting last night. It was fun, but COLD! They started late so by the time we left, my poor toes were ice cubes. That, coupled with wicked cramps, meant that I didn't enjoy myself as much as I would have otherwise. We stayed until they turned the tree on and then left before all the performances and whatnot. I took pictures with my little point and shoot, but they didn't come out very nice.
After the lighting, we went to dinner at 901 and that was fantastic. I'm going to write it up for my blog sometime this weekend.
Today I have a couple of big things with deadlines to get off my desk, so it should be a busy day.
Tomorrow morning we are "running" a Jingle Bell 5K for the Arthritis Foundation in the morning, then I have a fun thing planned for Jim on his advent calendar. Add in the normal errands and some special Christmas related errands and it should be a very full weekend.

Happy Friday!
I had a doctor's appointment for my annual female exam yesterday. As I was sitting in the exam room with my doctor going through my medical history (in the awesome gown with the opening in the front), some random girl came walking in. She had the wrong room and apologized and left quickly but it was really odd. I was glad that we were doing the medical history part of the exam and not the exam itself. I think my doctor freaked out more than me, as she was probably worried that I was going to go hysterical on her or something.
Tonight we're going to the local bar for a night out. They'll be having live music. It's a fun group that plays cover songs. My mom is coming up and staying with us. I'm sure that we'll go shopping tomorrow. Otherwise this weekend I'm hoping to relax and get my house in order.
Morning everyone! I've had a crazy week at work, and I am so glad that it is Friday. I have a deal that we've had incredible problems getting it closed, but we're getting closer every day, and I'm hopeful we will get there.
Tonight is B's work holiday party, which is usually a good time. Tomorrow we have major gift shopping to do for his family's Hanukkah party on Sunday. Nothing like leaving the gifts for all five nieces and nephews to the very last minute.
Hope everyone has a good one.
Morning ladies!
Well I have officially caught my boys cold, so I am semi-miserable. I took NiyQuil at 7:30 last night and it is the last thing I remember until my alarm went off this morning. Thank god, DH was home lastnight because I guess Zach woke up. (I feel bad, I didn't even hear him and I had the monitor on).
Today is an easy day, we have our holiday party starting at noon and ending at 3. I am then running some normal weekend errands, so I won't have to leave my house this weekend. I am hoping the boys and I will finally be over this whole cold by the end. Otherwise, it will be just cleaning and laundry in my house all weekend since DH Is working.
Have a great day/weekend.
Morning! Last night was nice--after leaving work, I made it to the Metro in record time despite all the Christmas tree lighting foot traffic. Josh texted me halfway home, saying he'd wait for me at our station and we could go to dinner downtown instead of trying to throw something together last minute. We ended at our favorite Cuban restaurant. Mmm, ropa vieja.
We got home and went to bed almost immediately since we were both exhausted. I'm so happy it's Friday--I came in, pounded out a few letters I needed to draft, and now everything's ready to go to the next level. The rest of the day should be okay.
This weekend I need to do some shopping--I'm getting one last thing for my SS, I'm buying a few gifts for a little girl who attends a local preschool (sponsored through work), and I might see if I can't find something for my parents. The rest of the weekend will be quiet--I need to write a book review and do some editing on other reviews for future posting.
Hope everyone has a great one.
Happy Friday! It's freezing here today, currently 14F! Brrr. It's supposed to be snowy and cold all weekend too.
Saturday we're going to dinner at Pappadeaux's with the IL's to celebrate MIL b-day and Jason's b-day, I can't wait for some lobster and and some gumbo! Sunday I'm hoping to get out and do some Christmas shopping if the weather isn't too bad.
Have a great weekend ladies!
Good morning!
Tonight, my old choir is having their dress rehearsal for their concert tomorrow night. My conductor invited me to come with Darian since most of my choir friends haven't met him yet, and I'll have to miss the concert tomorrow because it's MIL's birthday. I'm thinking of going but because it runs into Darian's bath and bedtime, I'm not sure yet.
Tomorrow we are heading to ILs' house for lunch to celebrate MIL's birthday.
Sunday we have a "church date" with Darian's godmother. I'm hoping to make this a regular thing with her. She's become one of my best friends ever since I was pregnant.
kaesha - I think you should keep the baby poo brown... it'll match the actual poo...
raynes I am so excited to hear your announcement!

Morning!
DH & I took my little brother and SIL to their first NFL game last night and got to watch the Seahawks kill Leo's Eagles!
Tonight we're all going to dinner at the top of the Space Needle! I'm super excited, since we haven't gone before. After that we'll have to say goodbye to my brother, since he's actually in town for a work function.
Lazy plans this weekend DH is OOT traveling all next week.
This weekend will be pretty busy.
Tonight we are going to go see The Muppet Movie. I really just want to go eat popcorn and then I work all weekend...boo.
Tomorrow night is our work Christmas party and one of my old co-workers is coming into town and staying at our place. Sunday is more work and then hopefully getting in a workout after that. Not sure what time my friend is leaving town so it's hard to plan.
