How About Something Heartwarming - dog related

My husband's co-worker has a therapy dog with 3 legs. After one of their dogs passed 2 months ago they adopted another dog that was born without his front legs who was about to be euthanized. They got him fitted with a wheelchair and he is thriving and working on becoming a therapy dog. Two weeks after coming home with Cyrus (no front legs) some friends called about a dog in the Main Line who was about to be euthanized becuase his back legs were paralyzed. They went to meet him and ended up adopting him.

About 2 weeks after bringing Baxter (paralyzed dog) home, they noticed that it looked like he was trying to use his back legs when not in his wheel chair. Over the next few days he started using them more and more. They already had an appointment scheduled with a neurologist who confirmed that there seemed to be a lot of damage, but thought Baxter would be able to use his back legs more and more and need his wheel chair less.

  • maybe if the dog was vaccinated he wouldn't be paralyzed.

sorry- i just had to go there.  it is a cute story thought.  what good people your friends are, that is a lot of special needs dogs to have.  is baxter a doxie?  they apparently can slip discs easily and lose mobility in their back legs often.  so, so sad.
