Crochet hooks and flying?

I will be flying home to see my family for Christmas.  My mother in law told me I need a plastic crochet hook or a wooden one if I will be taking my project with me.. 
Id really rather not buy a plastic one if I dont need to..

I've flown with metal crochet hooks and even my full set of Addi clicks knitting needles with no problems.

I flew with them with no issues either.  I was afraid to bring scissors so I brought those stupid teeny tiny ones that come with the $2 sewing kits and that was fine too

Yep, totally fine. Just make sure you have your yarn handy in case they have any questions. I was fine with a metal crochet hook.

When I'm on the go I just use my nail clippers in lieu of scissors since I always carry those with me and they're easier to transport.

I like the idea of using nail cippers for cutting (when i cant find my scissors due to someone using them thats what I use.   Ill take thoes instead of my scissors cuz id be upset if I lost thoes   lol
