DH and I are looking at getting carpet in our new house before we move next month. If anyone can recommend a good carpet place, I'd love to know about them. We would prefer to support a small local business if possible, but would consider a large chain if someone has an excellent review for one.
mbgreenwalt - I'm wondering if your DH is still installing carpet and if you would be willing to IM me his contact info again - I had it at one point before and lost it.
TIA.

Re: Carpet
my read shelf:
We just got new carpet from Seestedt's in St. Paul, they are small and locally owned, and had good prices. They have lots of remnants if you have a smaller space. They've been in business since 1923. Everything went very smoothly with them, from buying to installation.
I'd also recommend checking out Metro Carpet Outlet in Minneapolis. Also locally owned, they have tons of remnants and extremely good prices. We just couldn't find anything that was exactly right for our space. Owners were very nice (family owned) and knowledgeable.
Last, I might suggest avoiding Carpet King. Their salesperson didn't seem to know what she was talking about in terms of carpet quality. I also noticed on the BBB web site that they have had a few complaints.
