Re: **Rock n Voll**

  • I do both but am a better crocheter than knitter.  Were you the one I pointed to the FAQ over on the Crafts board?  There's a link to it at the top of the board with tons of great tips for getting started, compiled by yours truly.

I know I responded here to someone else with a similar question though. Give me a little bit to dig up that post so I don't repeat myself too much (plus I'm on my iPad right now and typing is kind of a pain).

I'm happy to try to answer any questions that the FAQ doesn't help with though! And the ladies on the. craft board are awesome too.

  • Oops, it was 1krazykitty that I replied to before: http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/59809280.aspx

I think between all that info you should be off to a good start!  I guess if I had to boil it down, I might suggest:

    1. Starting with crochet, if you're indifferent between which you want to learn first.  IMHO it's easier to pick up than knitting and you won't get frustrated and give up before you get started.  Also, crochet is faster than knitting so there's more instant satisfaction.

    2. Picking a fun project you're interested in but is still within beginner skills.  I started out with the cute animals you've seen me post in the past--they're not that hard and the cuteness kept me motivated :)

    3. YouTube is your friend!

Again, feel free to ask me questions at any point if you get stuck!

  • Excellent. I will start with the FAQ on the craft board.

    Thank you!
