If you ever changed jobs...

When did you know it was time to go?

What was your breaking point?

Are you glad you made the change?

** this isn't for me.  My boss is so flexible with me that I could never leave.

Re: If you ever changed jobs...

  • When I went home nearly every night and cried because I was so fed up with everything. I had a new boss who didn't trust me even though I was really good at my job.

I was getting physically sick. It started with eye twitches and got worse.

Best decision I've ever made. I left for a lower paying job that only lasted a couple months but a few weeks later I got hired at mutual.

  • Sorry I missed this but I had to comment..............

Same as kms - the stress surfacing in physical ailments is a start.  You dread going in each day and can't find one positive in staying.  Good benefits is not worth your health and the stress.  But there are bad situations and there's hopeless situations.  Leave if it's hopeless. It's much easier said than done.

I was in that situation in my last job and it took getting laid off (the entire company folded) to open my eyes.  I put up with it forever, not knowing that there were better places to work/spend my time out there.  I'm one of those people that feel amazingly thankful that I got laid off and was able to find my new totally awesome, low stress, super flexible job.  It's been 3 years and I still practically skip into work.
