Knitting pattern/stitch ideas for a thick and thin yarn

I have a thick and thin yarn that I want to make a scarf out of, but I am having trouble coming up with a pattern or stitch that would be good for it. I've tried a couple of stitches, but I haven't really liked the look with the yarn. Anyone have any suggestions? TIA
