Does anyone else *not* have a christmas tree?

We're not having a christmas tree for a variety of reasons:

1. We'll be out of town from about the 18-31st.

2. I'm sort of jewish

3. I'm allergic to real ones, and DH only likes real trees

4. Fire hazard, especially if we leave it up unattended for two weeks (and we're both firefighters, so that's probably bad).

5. I don't own any decorations and I refuse to pay full price for anything.

Is anyone else not having a tree?

I wouldn't expect you to have one. You're Jewish.  You better have a menorah.

I don't haave any problems with people not having one.  It's a lot of work and not necessary.  We probably wouldn't go all out if we didn't have DD.

I don't put one up. My cat would have it knocked over in a hot second, and I'm not willing to fight that fight with him.

The first Christmas I had him, my roomate put up a tree. He knocked it over every.single.night.

No tree here. I am Jewish and I leave it to DH if he wants a tree. He says the tree doesn't mean anything to him, so I am not sure if we will ever get one. Also I am afraid of all the decorations we would receive from my MIL if we did get one.

We spend Christmas Day with my ILs anyways so I will tell DD that "Christmas lives at grandma's house."

We won't be here for Christmas and I'm sure somebunny would end up trying to destroy it and I don't want to deal with that so no tree this year.

We don't either. LO is too little to know/appreciate, and our apt is too small to put one up without some massive reorganization that I'm just not willing to do. Next year, though!

No three here.  We're moving on Saturday, I highly doubt we'll get one up.  If MIL finds the stuff and feels motivated to put the tree up she's welcome to, otherwise it might get put up in a week or so.

We do however had a tree trunk (think huge tree timber in the middle of the house) in our new house, so maybe I'll put some lights on it and call it good.

We'll probably get one, but not until next weekend. We try to get through birthday season in our home before we move on to Christmas. 

In our family, MIL's birthday is right before Thanksgiving, DH's is usually the week of Thanksgiving. Then my late father. Then DS is today. Then my mom is Thursday. Then my BIL and I are both next Tuesday.  I'm willing to have my birthday while there's a tree up, but I won't do that to DS.

Most years we do but I just don't think I have the energy to put one up this year or if it will get taken down until the end of January with the new baby. I do have all of the other decorations up though.

We don't have one, yet .... I'm Jewish so it doesn't really matter to me (except I loveeee the smell!) ... H isn't but he wants to get one since his parents are coming for Christmas.

Before we had a DS and he got old enough we usually just had a small fake table top one. Now that he's older and we are home for Christmas we do a regular size artificial tree.
