How far along are you in your Christmas/Hannukah prep?

Decorating, gift buying, whatever else you do... how far along are you? Done? Haven't done a thing like me?

Re: How far along are you in your Christmas/Hannukah prep?

  • Our tree and decorations are up. Our wreath is on the door. I have presents for 2 of 6 people so I'm 1/3 of the way done. I hope to get our Xmas cards out tomorrow. I am almost done addressing them and DH just went to get me stamps while he's at the store.
  • Decor-done. I will buy some more stuff after Christmas for next year. I do that every year.

As for gifts-I am 90% done. There are some gifts I am waiting for (thank you online shopping). However, it may not come in time so I need to think of some back up gifts just in case.

Our office looks like it threw up Christmas. I need to wrap all the gifts and I plan to do it on Friday-my day off.

Edit-oh and my kitchen is now a bakery from now until Christmas. I love having a REAL kitchen to do my baking. So far I have done:

    -chocolate covered oreos

-white chocolate chip, pistacho & dried cranberries shorbread cookies

    -cocoa

    -banana nut muffins

    -carmelitas (to do)

-sweet and salty nut mix (to do)

  • Thanks to our move, we are not doing any Christmas decorating this year.

  • All I really do each year is throw a little Hannukah party and buy some books for my nieces. I haven't done much prep for the party yet (except buy extra wine glasses since we always seem to have too few...) and buy Hannukah candles that always seem to be scarce during the actual holiday. I haven't bought those books for my nieces yet either... Soon.
  • You would have so many options to choose from for Hanukkah stuff here. I like to get some of the blue and silver stuff for a change sometimes. We have a a very large section in the stores here since we live in a largely Jewish area. There's a synagogue on our block. Big Smile
  • Clearly, I haven't done much. The tree and decorations are in boxes in our living room, so that's coming soon.

I've done a tiny amount of shopping. Supposed to be making a stepping stone for MIL and a photo book for dh, but haven't gotten very far with those. Hmm. Need to get Christmas cards too. Clearly I'm not good at this planning ahead thing.

Today until Thursday is a baking marathon for our Christmas volunteer thank yous for Habitat.

  • Outdoor lights will be finished tomorrow.

Indoor decorating not started yet (hopefully next weekend)

Most Christmas shopping done (but the others don't have any ideas of what to get for gifts)

Baking and stuff won't really be done until right before Christmas.
