Good morning!

I'm about to head to the North to run a focus group. I know it'll be a lot colder than here and I'm not looking forward to it.

QOTD: Describe your hometown (you don't need to say where, just tell us what it's like). Bonus points if you do it in classified ad speak.

Re: Good morning!

  • I'm exhausted because DD has a cold and whined and cried all.night.long. until I got up with her at 2:30 and had her sleep more upright on me on the couch. Great for her, not so great for me. I'm upset that DH isn't helping even though I know it's because he's in a really intensive phase of a project at work, and I have no idea how I'm going to deal with her if she's still this sick when we fly back to the States on Saturday. At least I've got DH's promise that on Friday night I get to take a sleeping pill and sleep in the guest room while he takes care of DD all night. After all, he'll then get 2 weeks of uninterrupted sleep while we're gone. Sigh. Sorry, that turned into a whine-fest.

    QOTD:

Like rural life but need to stay connected to the city? You'll love it here! These 3 picturesque country homes are guaranteed to give you the peace and quiet you've been hoping for. Each home has a 2-6 acre yard with gently rolling hills, perfect for children or pets of any size. The area is in an excellent rural school district and yet, due to the proximity to a local highway, it's less than 10 minutes to downtown *city name* with all of its shopping and entertainment opportunities.

Yes, my "hometown" consisted of 3 houses. Of course it was officially part of another town, but it was several miles away.

  • Morning. I need to get going to bed. Today, I'm going into the city to meet a nail blogger from Switzerland. I find it ironic because I never met any Swiss citizens my age when I lived in Zurich. So I find it highly amusing that I'm meeting someone in Chicago.

QOTD: Well it started off as a immigrant town with a plumbing factory. Said factory made the village a planned community. The old immigrant housing was turned into a five star hotel and the area is now a resort area with golf courses, spa, fine dining ect. It's a popular weekend destination for people in Chicago.

It's a cute little village with lots of cute houses from the 1920s. Very family friendly and has great little neighborhoods. During Christmas they hang lights on the trees outside of the main office of the company and the hotel. It's really beautiful. I would move back in a heartbeat.

Now Nesting from Chicago, IL My nail blog:
  • Morning!  Nothing too crazy going on here, other than I'm considering recreating my mom's "7-Layer Bar" recipe.  Sigh...I managed to find condensed milk at the grocery and I'm dying to use it...and 7-Layer Bars are divine!

QOTD:  It's smack dab in the middle of a cornfield.  There are no stop lights, no shops, and only 2 churches (and definitely Protestant...none of those "crazy Catholics or Jewish people for us, tyvm").  There are no bars either.

Honestly...even the best advertising exec couldn't talk that place up.
