Book Rec - takes place in St. Paul?
Hi ladies,
I'd like to read a couple of books that take place in the Twin Cities area. I've recently read a few books that really make the city a "character" in the book (like New Jersey is in the Stephanie Plum books). So, not a book about the Twin Cities, just set there. I'd prefer fiction, too.
I just read "A Grand Murder" which is a cop/murder mystery story and takes place in St. Paul ($.99 on the Nook) and it was okay. It didn't talk much about the city other than being cold and a few street names. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Re: Book Rec - takes place in St. Paul?
Its not James Patterson, its John Sandford, all his Prey novels and the spin off of the Virgil Flowers books are all set in MN. The early Prey books are set in MPLS, and as he's progressed the series they've moved to around the state. I love John Sandford.
William Kent Kruegger also writes about MN too.
Whoops! good catch!

Also, Garrison Keillor's books are set in MN.

Love William Kent Krueger. MN based, not specifically St. Paul, but good books. But I'm biased. I used to work with his brother.
Tami Hoag has a few murder mysteries also set in the Cities. Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust are the only ones that I can remember... but I'm pretty sure there are 5 or 6
