Stolen Poll: Gifts you are excited to GIVE this year?

I've seen this on a few boards, but wanted to re-post here.  What gifts are you excited to GIVE this year?

Re: Stolen Poll: Gifts you are excited to GIVE this year?

  • My mom and I did 5 of the Operation Christmas Child boxes last month -- that was probably my favorite gift giving we've done so far.  It was a lot of fun too, we did boxes for tween/teenage girls and did a full on Target raid.
  • DD's basketball hoop.  She's dying for one, points out every single one we drive by and talks about it a lot.  She's going to FLIP when she sees it!

  • It's incredibly silly, but DH really likes this site, www.thechive.com.  It's basically just a photo blog and a great source for lots of my siggy pictures - funny, plus there are a few scantily clad chics in there (which we scroll through quickly if I'm viewing it with him).

Anyway, it's a grass-roots site and once in a while they print up t-shirts with their logo, which get snatched up right away.  The shirts are so in demand and so not typically sold that they feature pictures on the site when someone is spotted wearing one.

So I recreated their logo and made him a shirt via cafepress - it's not authentic, but it looks pretty spot on.  I think he'll dig it. :)

  • I'm really excited to give my nephew his gifts.  I already gave them the sweater I knit for him at Thanksgiving when they were out (my SIL LOVED it).  I also have a 3-pack of Bronco onsies for him (they live in San Fran) and I think my brother is going to be really excited!

I'm also excited to give my IL's their gift: they never want anything so we are going to give them a Cow via Heiffer International and I think they are going to be really happy!

  • We got my mom a camera; she's never had a digital one before and I know she wants one so I'm really excited to give it to her.

I got DH a Blu-Ray player, so I'm sort of excited to give him that, too.

That's pretty cool! DH looks at theChive as well (we also scroll quickly through the scantily clad chics if I'm viewing...heh heh). I may look into something like this for his stocking since we're not doing actual gifts this year.

  • I can't wait for Vaughny to open his smooshy remote control fire truck, I think he will love it!  Also nothing will make me happier than to see Coop clinging to the baby Jesus from his little people nativity.  :)

  • I am ridiculously excited for all of DD's gifts. She wasd only 6 months old last Christmas, so this year is the first "real" one, and I've worked so hard to find fun presents that are still within our measly budget. I can't wait to see her reaction!

No more baby siggie pics. Boo.

  • I think DH is going to be shocked that I'm getting him an iPod. He's expecting a great pair of slippers (because I made him try them on, which was good because they were too small and I had to send them back).  But since I bought the slippers with that warranty gift card I got for my boots being defective, I still had money to spend on him plus I had a Target gift card that he didn't know about. I'm going to wrap it and throw it in the stocking like it's no big deal.  I can't wait!!

I'm also excited to give my mom her silly sparkly earmuffs because I know she's thrilled about them.

Not excited to give my sister anything.

  • I'm refinishing a headboard for my little sister. She has this dream bedroom idea, but the furniture she loves is too expensive. I found an old one on craigslist that is upholstered with some 80s fabric and painted gold, so I'm going to paint it silver and put a velvety gray material on it.
  • I'm really excited to give DD her gifts this year. I think this year she will be more into opening things. I got her a dog pillow pet which I think she will love. And some Yo Gabba panties in the hopes she will start to potty train. And some fun play food for her kitchen.

I'm also excited to give DH this watch I got him and this cool dad keychain I got him too . Hopefully he likes them!

  • I got SO a necklace that I know he's going to LOVE. I can't wait for him to open it. He has wanted one for years but could never find one. I found it Big Smile

I was pretty excited about giving DS his mini-trampoline. But then I reached my breaking point and the kid has SO much energy and it's far too cold outside and my exams are next week.... somehow he ended up getting it today Embarrassed  He loves it. He can really get some air on it too! It's a life saver.

  • I have a few gifts I'm excited about.

We got DD1 a Tangled tower playset and a stuffed Max the horse. She loves that movie, and I think she's going to be thrilled.

I drew one of my BILs in DH's family gift exchange. I don't know him all that well and really had no idea what to get him. He's a chiropractor, and I ordered a series of anatomy prints from Etsy -- they're black & white drawings printed on vintage dictionary pages and look very cool. I'm going to put them in some wooden frames, and I think he's really going to like them. Our gift exchange theme was the Beatles, so I'm going to label each one with Beatles song lyrics that have the words head, hand, back, etc.

I got DH a Colorado Gems card. It's a stocking stuffer and only $10, but has great discounts at a bunch of ski resorts, and I'm looking forward to us going (I got myself one, too!). We haven't been up to the mountains during ski season in way too long!

  • We got the boys a train table from Craigslist for a steal and the little wooden train sets from IKEA.  I'm really excited about setting that up on Christmas Eve for them to find in the morning!

I'm just excited about giving gifts to everyone!!  I think I love it more than opening my own presents!

  • Playing Santa for 65 families on Saturday was *awesome* and I've already signed up for next year. (I still have to get gifts for some foster kids done, but I don't get to see them opened.)

For my own kids, it's the 'big' gifts - DS1's leather jacket (still looking for it), DS2's phone, DS3's big game set, and DS4 gets Duplos for the first time.

I'm also excited about the photo books - I think my grandparents will love it.
