Bart and/or Caltrain?

My husband will be flying in to SFO on New Years Eve to attend the bowl game at ATT park.  Can he take Bart or only Caltrain?

How long a ride on Caltrain?

Do you think Caltrain will run on New Years Eve?

I would actually take BART.  SFO to Caltrain is a PITA now that they discontinued the backtracking along the spur (last time I checked, it was faster to take a bus from SFO to Caltrain than use BART to hook up).  It's a longer walk to BART (but he COULD transfer to MUNI). 

I'm sure the holiday schedules are up. I'd check the caltrain site, BART.gov, and 511.org for all the info.

Is he leaving again that night?  Caltrain may be a better option after the game if he's hotelling close to SFO.  They generally run special trains after the game.

The caltrain station is one block from AT&T park. BART is on Market street, so he would have to catch muni/cab to get to the stadium.

Or walk.  It's about a mile.  It's not bad.  Pretty flat.

I would take BART from SFO to the game, although I am not too familiar with Caltrain. We always take BART to/from SFO and haven't had any issues. The walk from Embarcadero to AT&T Park isn't too bad (less than 1/2 hour) and there is Muni if he doesn't feel like walking.

It can also be good to be armed with schedules for all of them so you can adjust depending on when your flight arrives.  Looks like Caltrain is using Saturday schedule on 12/31 and their site does not reflect info for the game.
